Have we played at full strength yet (other than maybe the 1st Kings game)? Are we actually playing to win in the preseason? Or, are we evaluating different line-ups, letting the new guys learn their teammates, etc. If we were 100% healthy and the goal was to win each and every preseason game, I'd be concerned. I'm not. We got killed by Utah in preseason last year, too - under almost identical circumstances. We were missing Roy, Oden and Aldridge. Utah was at full strength and played their starters considerable minutes. Yet we won 54 games and they only won 48. Getting your ass kicked in a meaningless preseason game is hardly reason for panic. Nor is it an accurate indicator of regular season success. BNM
I think it is perfectly understandable for people to be worried. Honestly, it is getting a little annoying seeing all the "ITS PRESEASON!" people complaining about the worriers.
Everyone that is ready to panic over the pre-season obviously has too much time on their hand. So, if you believe you are in this group, I will send you a virus.
Is it appropriate to point out that being concerned right now about some obvious problems does not equal being in a panic? Or is this a bit too rational for this thread? It's a long season. I realize this. Still, some things clearly need to be ironed out before this team even matches 54 wins.
Too much Chicken Little? Losing to the Jazz by 20 at one point during the second half of yesterday's game didn't really send shivers down my spine. People need to realize that the pre-season is all about experimenting and getting back into the rhythm of things. Even if we don't start out with a winning percentage after our first ten games, there's still time for the team to hit their stride.
