    • I thought trading Trent for Powell was a good thing
    • I thought dealing for RoCo was going to make us better
    • I thought we got fleeced in the Clippers trade
    • I thought CJ for Hart was a lateral move at best
    • I thought Grant would be an underwhelming acquisition
    • I thought Sharpe would take a while to contribute
    • I thought Chauncey's defensive scheme would take a long time to implement effectively
I have been wrong about everything. I'm done guessing and assuming. I just enjoy this team.

At least you can admit where you may have been wrong…. and you weren’t an arrogant prick while stating your opinions in the first place.

That puts you two points above most here on S2, FAMS!

I liked that Hart deal. Hated the clippers deal. Was pissed when we didn’t get the Pelicans pick. Didn’t really have a strong opinion about Sharpe because no one had seen him play. I loved the Billups hire. Thought the trade for Grant was okay but not monumental. I’m still very skeptical about the Lillard/Simons back court working because of their defensive flaws.

I thought getting rid of CJ was addition by subtraction. But I wanted to pair Lillard in the backcourt with a larger guard.

you're not out there, alone in the tall grass:

    * Powell: I thought it was a good trade providing it meant CJ would get traded. Then it became clear Olshey intended for Powell to be a SF....geeeezuz
    * I liked trading for RoCo; but I was a uncomfortable with using two 1st's
    * I initially though the Clippers trade was bad. But pretty quickly came around to it being neutral at worst, and necessary
    * I liked the Pels trade right from the beginning even though I thought the Blazers could have got more draft assets from the deal
    * I was not a fan of trading for Grant when it was thought it might be the 7th pick. The Pels pick, OK. And I was certain Detroit would not trade Grant for the 2025 Milwaukee pick. I also thought Grant was at best, a 3rd option; but he has surprised me with his game

Also there were some who thought Lillard playing for Team USA was a bad idea but the relationship he developed with Grant on the team directly led to him coming here.

I thought we’d get the #1 seed and I bet $100 we’d win the title. The jury is out.

We have a better all-around team because of it.

I mean that’s true, but it’s a little bit sad that we needed Dame to go get hurt in order to finally blow up the team.

He didn’t “get hurt.” He just had surgery for an old injury. He could’ve come back during the season, but we chose to tank.

    - I thought it was a good trade as well. BUT considering GT2 and Powell are basically the same player all these years later, I don’t feel like it was a huge goof.

    - I was stoked about RoCo, and I’m a dumbass cause we were sold a bill of goods and I fell for it. He’s the reason I now try to thoroughly watch tape on players. Saddiq Bey :smiley-bigcry:

    - I thought we were fleeced as well.

    - I didn’t really even have an opinion on Hart. Liked him as a player, but I wanted Murphy as well. NOP was a rumored destination for a while leading up to the deadline, and the thought was we would get a choice of one young guy outside of Herb Jones. Crazy to say right now, I know, but I still think CJ and Nance for Hart + a 1st that didn’t become a lottery pick last summer is still an underwhelming return. It works out that a blunder of a pick choice was still able to get Grant though.

    - I was totally against trading the lotto pick or even 2 future 1sts for Grant/OG. But I was happy with getting Grant for only that MIL pick.

    - I thought the same thing. Was stoked that we’d get one of Sharpe or Mathurin, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up on Sharpe becoming anyone this early if we drafted him. Now, it’s too hard to NOT think about where he can be after even one summer.

    - I knew it would work out, I didn’t necessarily think too much about how long it would take.

    I Gotta Say...(Tony Soprano voice...)

I nailed this. I really did.
Back in February, and all through the summer, when I often felt like John Cena getting stomped on by 12 Undertakers, as I consistently defended Mr. C.
Maybe, I have an advantage because I see and "feel" things due to my job.
I get to look these people directly in the eyes.
I saw the upgrade in the type of dudes Joe was bringing in.
I knew they were gonna be good.

    But....I Gotta Say.....
    I didn't think they'd be this good.

    EDIT:
Check out the tweets from Dame & Josh tonight.
    That's exactly what I was talking about...CHEMISTRY...
This team is a masterclass in it. And the Santa Barbara thing was genius.
If anyone still believes 'good things happen to good people', then this team is in for something special.

I'm sure even Cronin never anticipated this kind of start.
