Anyone answer me this question: Why is Pop Spurs team, and team with a hall a fame coach and generationally talent in Wemby have a worse record than us? Or Monty with Detroit having a worse record that us? a young super green team that equals to many losses and some bad ones along the way and yes a 60 point blowout isn’t a good look. But we have also beaten the Suns this year and have some stretches when guys were busting ass. So is it that they’re not hustling now? Or is it that the last two games were game 6 and 7 on a 7 game road trip, with a young team against the two teams with the best record in the NBA in OKC and the Wolves?
Thanks. Question wasn’t directed at you though. I just find it silly that non ticket holders think they can dictate to season ticket holders how they should handle things. Until you are forking out the money, don’t tell me how I should handle the situation…
I couldn't care less about the record. I care if guys are engaged and improving. I care about seeing the team gel. Nothing like that is happening. Our players look like they've given up. And I don't blame them. I don't think they have been prepared by the coaching staff. It's not just the last two games. I've been done with Chauncy and hoping they're lining up his replacement for quite a while. And I've made it known in here.
Your question has nothing to do with this though. I haven’t lived in Portland since 2009. When I did live there, I went to about 20/25 games a year from 1999 and till 2009. So no I’m not a season ticket holder. But if I was and I was upset like that poster, just sell your tickets or give up your season tickets next year, it’s simple. there has been way worse teams than this current team.
Yea it does. It’s easy to say what you would do IF… get back to me when you are a season ticket holder of a rebuilding team in any sport. Until then you simply don’t get to dictate what we should do with our tickets. Until you wear the shoes, don’t try to walk in our steps telling us to walk differently.
That’s just you, but many posters were on Billups to start the year too and posted in the Billups thread they will eat crow because Billups has the guys playing hard and etc. I also mentioned that once we start to lose again the negative Nancy’s will come out bashing him again and here we are. this team is young and green. We played with Ant out to start the year, lost Williams and now Ayton for a long stretch. We are starting two rookies in Scoot and Camara. we both know Pop is a good coach and Monty too, why do they have a worse record than us? It’s because talent can only get you so far. Not sure what people exceptions are with this team but it’s too high if you think a new coach can change things around this year or soon. Like I said look at Pop and Monty, talent only gets you so far and are talent is super green with lots of experience and growth needed. It will take lots of time
before anything else in this post is answered, please look up the average point differential between the two teams? what is Portland losing by on average and what are the spurs losing by on average? win/loss is just a portion of the story. There is a lot more context. Like hustle, desire, schemes and game plans. We don’t look like we have any of those. That’s the issue. Not the win loss record.
Who choose to be a ticket holder going into this year when you knew we would be bad and that Billups was still the coach? who choose to buy season tickets and feel their opinion is so important they must email them and voice their thoughts? it’s your money, you made the choice. Next year don’t make that choice, it’s your money. Complaining ain’t going to help lol.
So you didn’t answer my question? Lol if they had more hustle and better offense than us they would have a better record lmao. Minnesota has a better point differential than the defending champ in Denver? You really think they are better than Denver? Point differential has nothing to do with it. you’re not making sense and if you don’t care to actually answer my question then your a troll too loo
you are so far off. You don’t read all the posts did you? they force us to make that decision before we know what the team will be like. Last year we had to renew prior to the trade deadline and I did so based on the team saying they would do things to build a contender around Dame. After we were locked in we then kept the pick and traded Dame. I didn’t sign up for that. please keep up….
your first question needs some definition/contrxt, as I explained. Win loss is only a portion of the story. Stop fixating on one element….
Minnesota has the best defense in the league. Yes. As of now I think they may be better than Denver. Thier record says so and so does the eye test. when the playoffs hit, they slow down to more of a half court game. I see Minni thriving in that with their length, size and defense. try again.
you said you voice displeasure about Billups for a while. You knew Billups would be our coach and you still opted in. And you are saying Billups needs to go. So you knew Billups would still be the coach and still opted to be a season ticket holder lol. Please keep up
Lmao, a Minnesota team with young guys that hasnt been to the second round in how many years is better than the defending champs? Thanks for the laugh. If my memory is good I’ll come back to this post in the playoffs lol
You are mixing me up with someone else? Quote the displeasure in Billups? I was sold on him when he was hired and I haven’t given up on him as of yet, because he hasn’t had consistency in the lineups. With that said, the schemes, hustle, gritty play, etc is a glaring concern and yes I would hold him responsible for it.
