I don't think there is much you can take away from this game other than

    A) we came out really flat

    B) we were the much better team in the 2nd half

    C) Roy didn't look right at all

    oh and

    D) We missed Rudy's shooting

Oden out, means much more Frye which is bad.
    Rudy out.
    Batum hurt.
    Roy played like hell.

And still almost won it. Mavs were w/o Howard though.

edit: and Sergio shouldn't play more than 8min a game. His offense is way too inconsistent and limited, and on defense he offers absolutely nothing. Go away.

Chalk it up to "one of those games". Dallas seems to have the Blazer's number this year. Happens to every team. Suck it up and come back strong against New Jersey on Friday.

I sometimes forget Roy can have a bad game.

Ugh I fucking hate the Mavs, almost as much as LA. Now I have to hear about how Dallas "owns" Portland from one of my co-workers who grew up there. Tough loss, but Dallas was clearly the better team tonight. Even then we had many opportunities, but blew them all.

I keep thinking at some point we will see more aggressive double teams on Roy. I can't remember what teams have tried, but Dallas has it perfected. Their zone hurt us badly. But with a health Martel and Rudy, that should not be an issue in the future.

I didn't see 2nd half tonight. But, I remeber how Dallas bottled Roy up On Christmas Day (In Porltand) and held Brandon to nothing down the stretch. And Josh Howard was ejected in that game. What does Dallas do (that even San Antonio can't) defensively to prevent him from being, well, being B-Freeking-Roy? Lots of teams throw double teams at him and force him to give the ball up. But, he usually finds a way to get it done despite that. I can't figure out why we're 0-3 against the Mavs. I don't buy that we had a let down tonight after the Laker win. We had plenty of reason to be motivated tonight. Utah had already lost and Dallas had already manhandled us twice. They just seem to have our number.

They do have our number, and that number is three quick scoring guards. Our perimeter defense is our Achilles heel.

He had a few good looks and passed up on a lot more. It was obvious that either A) There was something wrong with Roy (flu or injury) or B) He's intimidated by the Mavs. Honestly, he seemed like a totally different player than we're used to seeing and those are the only two possible reasons why. He was noticeably more slower than usual, as well and awkward/clumsy with the ball.

I blame Bayless cause it really looked like Roy had that flu that has been going around.

And this is like the worst team Sergio could possibly play against/Rudy can be hurt against.

    We shoot too many jumpers.

    Sergio stinks.

    Dallas owns us.

Coach Nate had no gameplan on how to defend Jason Terry.
    D.Nowitzki was on fire tonight.
Roy was off on his 3's.

Until Nate watches video tapes more closely we will lose to Dallas in the playoffs (if we are paired up with them). I won't be surprised if we do.

I think batum needs to guard terry not Kidd. Kidd can pass and I'd rather see him take shots than terry. Not to mention outlaw being our only scorer off the bench pretty much shot us in the foot

    Roy's stat line:
    22 pts

Its nice thinking that's a bad game from Roy. Because it really isn't that bad.

Exactly. With Rudy and/or Oden Portland wins this game.

    One more thing.

Aldridge was an absolute stud tonight.

He carried us, both emotionally and on the court, in that 3rd Quarter. It's too bad he tired out by the time crunch time rolled around.

He didn't have that bad of a game statistically, but every time Roy had a chance to make a big time momentum changing shot, he bricked it or looked to someone else to get a shot. 7/20 doesn't sound so bad. Looks like a typical Kobe night, honestly. His driving game was working well, but the jumper was just off when we needed it and had a couple bad turnovers consecutively that played a huge part in us digging us a hole.

where was batum? why does he only play the limited minutes in a game like this? (and he looked just fine so don't give me the line MandM fed you about the shoulder)

and why don't we call a spade a spade, barea/kidd/terry made all of our PGs look worthless on D. the only guy who was effective was Nic but, like i mentioned above, he was on the bench. and save the "this was sergios worst game" garbage. (4 assts. no TO's, yea his shot was ugly but he was still effective) blake struggled and bayless was sick/ineffective.

good thing we shouldn't have to meet up with Dallas in the first round of the playoffs, as we'll both probably be in the lower half of the conference.
