Stro can definitely bring a lot to the table. He is bigger and stronger than Sean, and is also a much better finisher. He also is not a malcontent like a few people here think he is.
I'm glad that he's practicing but it doesn't look like he's going to be in game shape any time soon. That injury to start the season really isn't going to help him get his minutes once he comes back but like jtballa said, I think he was playing well enough in preseason to earn a spot in the rotation. Anyway, I also agree with SS4 that Stro isn't going to be bitching about not playing enough (or at all). It's not like he's used to playing 30 minutes per game. I'm sure he realizes that his situation is not as important for the Nets that it is for him, being in the last year of his contract.
I thought the same when he was acquired, comparing him to Eddie Griffin. It turns out that Stro is just a very quiet, introverted kid, and (not unexpectedly) is thus misunderstood by those that are used to dealing with people that are more outgoing. It's probably easy to interprest his body language and silence as someone who is "angry" or "brooding," but if you search carefully, you'll discover that no one has ever really said anything bad about him as a person, and he has never really said anything bad about anyone. He just needs to be treated a little differently than more outgoing, social players, and I suspect that most coaches either don't take the time to realise it or take the time to accomodate him.
