With all the guards we are signing that could mean that a deal with CJ is possible. I looked at the stats for last year and teams in the East (I dont think Portland would trade CJ to a Western conf. team) and the two teams who made the least 3 pointers/game was the New York and Milwaukee. New York has no one worth trading for except for Porzingis and I think Milwaukee would be a target for a trading partner if we could get Middleton, then use TPE on a taller shooting guard. So lineup would be something like this: Lillard/ Curry TPE Player/Trent/Simons Middleton/ Turner Aminu/Harkless Nurkic / Collins/ Leonard
A trade would be the only move. There aren’t any FAs left (that we could afford) that would really improve us.
Insanely quiet from the Blazers. All of them, Dame, Cj, Neil, last season during this time Dame and CJ were out recruiting hard. Neil is always quiet, so I get that. WTF is happening behind the scenes that neither of our stars will, publicly at least, recruit the way they did last season? Maybe they are recruiting behind the scenes and we just don't see it. Maybe their not willing to stick their necks out there on one player after another and get nothing in return.... again. Something doesn't feel right.
It's amazing how fast Kawhi went from a team oriented MVP candidate to the epitome of selfish douchebag. The personality change is so great, if he were older I would suspect he had a stroke!
we got no $ to offer anyone. You want Dame to put his neck out to chase Mike Beasley with our 2 mil offer?
The ONLY reason I'd trade for Melo would be to shorten the contracts of someone like Meyers and Turner from 2 yrs to oneas Melo expires this yr. However no way OKC would do that because that would add another yr to their horrific tax situation. Just forget Melo, he's awful
I think they were told to chill on that. See how it backfired last season? Its kinda mud in the face if our stars openly recruit, but cant get anyone here.
Yeah behind the scenes is a much better option. If anyone should throw their teammates under the bus with different trade scenarios, let it be us.
