Miller & Cho, not Roy, may be pushing that idea (Roy's problems are due to Andre) out to GMs in order to overvalue Roy in a trade. Has this rare combination of 2 things ever happened before?--1) being injured so much you permanently drop a couple of talent levels, yet 2) not being hurt so much that you miss much time. Roy missed 13 days, from April 11 to 24, then played in the playoffs, but at a lower talent level permanently.
There is a silver lining in all of this: It took the spotlight off of Oden. I almost forgot that he even existed. Any word on how his rehab is going?
With his infectious love of the game, he's a regular at the practice facility, putting in long workout hours, always the first to arrive and the last to leave. "I have something to prove,' he told reporters, who see him there every day and never wonder where he is. "I am making $6.76 million dollars this year and I owe it to my owner, my team, and most of all, all of you grreat fans in Portland who have put up with me for 4 years without booing me!" With that, Oden broke out his typical wide smile as he did 100 situps, which don't require putting weight on his healing knee.
