It's possible you're right. I still tend to think his injuries were coincidental and it's the mental aspect that prevented him from sticking around here. I think we'll see sooner rather than later. I seriously doubt he'd be one of the hottest names on Day 1 of free agency if teams honestly thought he couldn't pass a physical or string together any healthy play.

Mar-- I'm not trying to troll against you guys and I'm sorry if it came across that way. Admittedly I'm taking a pessimistic tone in this thread, but it's really just me mentally preparing myself for the extreme frustration his success will cause me. Catharsis.

Since I'm new here as a semi-regular poster, I pose this question to the rest of you: Is jlprk always such a tool?

If he does stay healthy, the Miami Heat have picked up one hell of a player to go with LeBron, Wade and Bosh. I think if he is healthy and seriously ready to play, he owes the Blazers and their fans a return on their investment. And it would be nice if he would become conscious of this. That would mean stepping out of the lil box 95 percent of todays America live in.

Many had long assumed Miami was the clear front-runner, but I saw reports to day that Oden is mulling his options because others are offering more money.

He wants to be in Miami. I wholeheartedly believe this. He has craved the warmer climate ever since he entered the league. What I don't get is it's only 6 months. You don't have to live here year around. LaMarcus too. If Chicago and it's nightlife moves you. By a house, call it home and live their six months of the year. Making millions, I have to believe you can find a way to manage to live in a rainy, dreary place 6 months of the year. It's not like it's minimum wage or pooring rubbing alcohol over a open wound.

I'm going easy on you! Some advice--don't mess with HCP. That guy once murdered someone on this board.

If Brandon Roy can get a 2 year/10 million deal when everyone KNEW his knees were worthless, I think there could be some demand for the former #1 pick who everyone compared to Bill Russell.

You're right. It makes no sense.

It makes sense for some other teams to pursue him. He'll come cheap and they don't have to give up a player or a pick, so why not take a flyer? Low risk. But probably low reward as well.

Jlprk has dry humor. He uses trolling to get under your skin. The more you feed him; the more he posts against you.

Illgauskas had years riddled with injuries then put together a very healthy solid career thereafter. I certainly think theres a realistic chance Oden does something similar. I don't understand the Oden hate its not as if he is out getting arrested or impregnating random ladies. Oden's body has failed him so far; he wasn't fat or lazy like Vin Baker or Shawn Kemp, Oden just couldn't stay healthy. Andrew Bynum is hurt most the time Yao Ming had to retire this just comes with the territory of being a 7 foot athlete in a physical contact sport.

Heck even these playoffs Kobe couldn't stay health Russell Westbrook couldn't stay healthy Derrick Rose couldn't get healthy. Wade was hobbling along on two bum knees a shadow of himself. Some Oden critics act as if injuries are rare for a basketball player when one out of four NBA players careers end because of injuries. Its a major part of the game.

Oden (admittedly) became a lazy alcoholic. When he ballooned up to 285 pounds you don't believe that was all muscle do you?

The comparison to Bill Russell I think came from resembling Bill a bit while he was forced to work left handed. I fell for that misconception myself. Really my original impression is closer to the mark, Oden''s manner of gather, gather, jump was more Dale Davis like than Russell. Russell never gave that look, he could jump before any did their first gather.

You won't believe this miraculous coincidence, but I'm sitting here at 2 am, getting hungry because all I had today was 2 Wendy's 99 centers (Pachulia and Lopez?), planning to warm up the oven which takes an hour because it's dirty, and cook a couple of giant Costco pizzas. Then I read these posts. So I'll tell you what. At about 4 am when the old oven creaks to a stop, I'll dedicate my little party to all my fans out there! Thanks a million, and, wish you could all be here!
