Good job by management so far. No home-run type moves just slowly and surely expanding our abilities and creating a better team.
I'm starting to think of this offseason in different terms. Aside from doing what I think is an objectively great job bolstering our talent and acquiring value, I think Olshey has shown two important things that will serve him and the Blazers well in years to come: First, he's showing a great awareness and understanding of making the most of whatever team-building situation he happens to be in. When he was with the Clippers and there was an opportunity to bring in Chris Paul, he jumped on it and closed the deal. Last year, going all-in on Hibbert was the right move even though it didn't work out. This year, we may never know the full extent of what big-ticket moves he explored, but he ultimately settled on the best value moves available to him to improve our competitiveness while maintaining short- and long-term flexibility. Second, even though Wright and Watson are relatively small potatoes, he showed he's the real deal when it comes to sweet talking FAs to choose Portland over other teams. That's huge!
