I honestly think, and I know for a 100% fact this is putting the cart WELL before the horse...if the Blazers happen to win a title, there is no way I'm sleeping for 2 or 3 days. I think I finally fell asleep around 3 this morning.
It kind of was this generations Duckworth moment. Cept, Duck was able to play the rest of the series.
The Blazers still weren’t in existence at that particular time but it was still one of those moments that sent chills up a kid’s spine.....even if that kid wasn’t a Knicks fan. Great and inspirational memory......
I’m running on 3 hrs, actually I wouldn’t call it running. I can’t believe I used to close down bars midweek and make it to work at 6am. Getting old sucks.
If we win, I'm gonna fly to PDX for the parade. Gonna pitch a tent in Pioneer Square since my folks sold the house and moved out.
As a lil boy the Knicks were my fav team, Willis was god and i quietly rooted for them. I asked Reed for an autograph he declined but tossed my hair and said " enjoy the game kid"... Now as a 57 year old, I get very emotional thinking back to those times and what Willis Reed and that amazing team meant to me. I can't explain it and perhaps its embarassing (but hey we all friends right?) but I actually have love in my heart for Yusuf Nurkic and this Blazer team. What we experienced last night is what makes sports so wonderful. I need to take a couple days off from this, I'm emotionally spent.
that's what I've heard too and there's a pic where Dame is holding Nurk's crutches (and lol the crutches are taller than Dame) so we know he arrived last night with crutches. For all we know, Nurk's doctor may have been losing his mind seeing Nurk walk around without crutches and everybody, doctors and blazers, are all over Nurk today about gimping around without the crutches.
