Such a breath of fresh air to finally have a coach in Portland that doesn't have a stale offense like McMillan did. The ball movement, player movement approach is awesome. Pass, pass, pass. My one complaint would be that I want to see Aldridge get deep position more, but its still early. I wanna see more of Barton too, I think he could be a difference maker, great length and ball handling abilities and he's good at getting into passing lanes. Lots of good going on with this team right now. I'm anxiously optimistic.
I agree on all counts.... I think we'll see the bench more as the season goes on. I think right now he's just trying to let the starters gel and grow together.
Agreed on all accounts. Helps to have a PG that can push. Not that Nate would've utilized a real PG anyway.
My complaint is that there's a ton of jumpshots. Wish they'd run more cuts and backdoor plays, but it's still miles better than the McMillan offense.
Slashing plays are being integrated; we saw more last night than in game 1 for example. I think as the group meshes more they will move more out of the basic penetrate and kickout into more complex permutations. LMA's new dribble drive move is coming along nicely too.
I'm trying to remember back to when the last time is our offense was not stangant and boring. I think we'd have to go back to the jail blazer days, when we were loaded with talent. Even then, it was one on one oriented, trying to take advantage of post up advantages.
Yeah I'm getting flashbacks to the early 90's... not that we're nearly as talented as that squad, but we're *moving*... the games feel so much more fun to watch.
