I’m with thoses guys no matter what. That’s it. It is what it is. Game 3 Tt: @lillardbr Gram: @brunosabinoc
There are hundreds of people in this place living and dying by every play and they get questioned whether they love this team. madness.
It's the rare exception of posters on here who don't love this team. It's why many get so frustrated because they have poured their heart and soul into following the Blazers for years. Apathy is the opposite of love, not frustration because you want them to do better, believe that they can, and see ways where it is..... ....quite possible.
And they get called bandwagon fans. The self-righteous people are worse than the people that cause drama.
In my short time in this forum I've seen a poster (Serbian) wish death upon our coach and witnessed more comments of pure hate and disdain during game threads than I could ever imagine. There is little love for this team when things aren't going well. This forum takes passive'aggressive to rare heights. Frankly, I'm not overly impressed with the quality of posters in here. I expected more than over-reactionary emotion and more understanding and honest awareness of each game and situations. Not a bunch of kids who pout when things don't go your way. I do find humor in the fact that people in here can bash and ridicule the team but hell comes to any outsider who dares try. Last nite there was a Warriors fan (dubsfan) in. He was respectful and factual and told to "get the fuckity fuck fuck outta here." That was embarrassing and classless. But, it is entertaining.
For many this is a place to vent about the team. Frankly, people that are spending hours posting on an obscure forum like this are probably more passionate than most of the fan base. Also we are sports fans, do you honestly expect enlightened discussion most of the time? Sports fans man.....just let that sink in for a moment. This forum (and Blazer fans in general) is actually extremely tame compared to other teams. I read other team forums from time to time and they are significantly more vile. Ever read Spurstalk? Clutch fans? Lakersground? They make the stuff here sound like kiddie talk. Go read the game threads for the Nuggets or Thunder during those series. Literally 90% just profanity ridden bashing of the team...
Ever had a brother? You can pick on him all you want but if someone from the outside does it, you end their life.
The game threads should be relabeled game day meltdown threads as the maturity level in those threads reminds me of grade schoolers and I apologize to all grade schoolers out there.
A better analogy would be like going to the Lincoln City beach and complaining that there is too much sand and the water is salty.
I am not at all happy when people say harm on a player or a coach or even NO. I thought the Dubsfan guy was obviously trolling us, and he didn't say anything bad but come on why is he here, it's too rub it in and enjoy watching "us" suffer, but some of the posters definitely did not treat him well. You can call it whatever you want, but the fact is people are absolutely emotionally invested in the team, which means ups and downs. Usually, both the ups and the down's come in waves and are short-lived. Last night sucked I'm a fairly even-keeled guy, but I was pretty pissed off at what I thought was terrible officiating in the 3rd and I honestly believe that was the end of the Season for the Blazers, whether they win a game (hey maybe 2) at home or not, their chance to make the series competitive and have home court vanished last night, and that as a fan who is also a person sucks! It is what it is though, I'll watch their final couple games, be glad overall for the journey they had this year, and take "some" solace in the fact I think a healthy Nurkic means they beat Denver in 5 or 6, and Teams can't guard them the same. You can call me whatever you want over-reactionary, an elementary school student, whatever knock yourself out, but it sucked watching that, was a fun ride to get here.
