There is accountability. In some ways, too much. All platforms differ but with Whole Foods/Amazon Flex, if a driver is late or if a customer complains about missing something the lower the drivers score. As the score drops, the driver 1) will be offered fewer driving blocks, 2) will be given shittier blocks with more distance driving and 3) they will earn fewer points which help towards getting savings on gas, insurance, good and bunch more. I have had my rating affected several times for issues way outside my control, like traffic jams, customers ordering the the wrong address and missing items. if a driver was taking stuff, it would be very quick for the algorithm to figure that out and demote or ban the driver.
