It's more a convenient excuse to shoot him. Shoot first, ask questions later. They guy is scary. He might do something bad. He's on something.

In reality, the guy might be a father and have a good job and just had his car breakdown and was headed for his wallet or registration.

He didn't run. He had his hands up in the air.

It was the helicopter police who said that. The people who shot at him didn't say that. Its what they were thinking from above.

Not end of thread. An abandoned vehicle could be a stolen one or one that was used in a crime that was dumped there.

We do not know the interaction between the guy who was shot and the officers. We know they responded. He was there and it somehow escalated.

It was called an abandoned vehicle, not a stalled or broken down vehicle. It was also in the middle of the road, which is a bad fucking place to put it.

This is a felony stop. The police order the person to raise their hands and walk backwards towards them while the officers shield themselves. What the Tulsa police did was not a felony stop.

It looks like it escalated to that point somehow. Except he chose to walk to his car and reach inside

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/20/us/oklahoma-tulsa-police-shooting/

(CNN)On August 16, Oklahoma twins Terence and Tiffany Crutcher celebrated their 40th birthday. Terence, a God-loving father who sang at church every week, had enrolled at a community college in Tulsa, where he hoped to earn a degree.

"I'm going to show you," Terence recently texted his sister. "I'm going to make you all proud."

He never was able to follow through on that promise.

On the night of September 16, exactly one month later, Crutcher's SUV broke down, according to his family.
After police responded to a 911 call about the vehicle, the black man found himself raising his hands high above his head. Moments later, Officer Betty Shelby fatally shot Crutcher. He was later found to be unarmed, according to authorities.

At a news conference Monday, Jordan struck a candid tone about the officer-involved shooting that left Crutcher dead.

"I'm going to tell you right here now: There was no gun on the suspect or in the suspect's vehicle," Jordan said.

If this guy in the picture just continued to walk to his car, what do you think what would happen?

If a cop thinks you are going for a weapon, you are going to get shot. It was probably bad judgment on the part of the female police officer, but what's new. This is why they aren't on the combat line in the army.

    There was no weapon.

If they saw a weapon, then they should shoot. There was no weapon.

Taser would bring the guy to the ground so they could cuff him. That wasn't their intent.

    The guy is black.

Also, I don't get why some people almost seem to just disagree for the sake of disagreeing, or doing so to continue their persona on here.

The cops overreacted. Plain and simple.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. Kill significantly more unarmed black people than unarmed white people...well, blame the victim of course.

They do not know what is inside his car. Does not matter if there was no weapon.

If they think he's going for a weapon, that's usually enough justification. He was not obeying orders and walked to the front window of his car and appeared to reach in. If he had a gun and started shooting at the officers...well, don't bring tasers to a gun fight....

If the police would have fired they were in correct positions to fire. Other officers were not in the line of fire.

What happened in Tulsa was not proper police procedure. In this case you have one officer deploying a taser while another officer is firing their gun. That is a giant cluster fuck.

The thing is, in almost all of these cases we've discussed on here, when they run their legal course, I'm right.

They were responding officers who ran to provide backup. I'm willing to guess if anything, this is more of a case of a female using bad judgment in a man's job. Combine this with a guy who does not appear to follow the officer's directions and instead walked to his car for god knows whatever reasons and reached into his window.
