He used to. But lately every single one of his posts was more about him and playing the victim card than actually discussing basketball.
Two mods and Mediocre Man (under a different moniker which I'm not going to disclose) are saying that I should have suspended Mick Zagger for this comment, I agree that this was a fucked up thing to post, that's why I deleted it and asked Zags not to post crap like that. MM and the mods are all saying that Zag's post was a direct attack on his family. Last night I didn't read it as that. I read it as a backhanded insult to MM, that Zags was questioning if MM really had black foster kids. I read it as Zags was calling MM a liar, I didn't read it as him insulting MM's family. In the heat of arguments people have been called liars before and that doesn't result in them being banned, only their comments being deleted or edited. In my opinion calling a woman a whore is worse than calling someone a liar. That said I'm not interested in creating some list of words that will get you deleted or edited and some words that will get you suspended and or banned. I suspended MM because he knows posting that is not acceptable. He points out all the time in threads when someone posts a personal insult and the mods miss it and/or don't do anything about it. He posted that to provoke a reaction from a member on this forum and instead he got a reaction from a mod. I'm explaining all of this because moderating this forum is never black and white. Most of the time we're making it up as we go along. Also I'm taking the time to explain what I do and why I do it because sometimes I get it wrong. My intentions aren't to pick on someone or play favorites, my intentions are to make this community a fun place to post at.
If you don't suspend Zags for that, whom according to you has had numerous warnings as well, I don't see how you aren't playing favorites. You warned him in this post as a matter of fact, and he still continued on to say that after you told him NOT to try and aggravate MM. Furthermore, by adding in personal details, that makes it a DIRECT PERSONAL attack. He did so knowing MM cannot "retort" back as he is suspended. I have more beef with the lack of suspension for Zags than I do with suspending MM in this scenario. That's an egregious use of justice on your part, IMO.
I am a bit curious as to what you would have to call a white, heterosexual male in order to get banned. I'm not sure that word exists.
Not a chance in the world. That term has been thrown around so much you would think this is a soup factory.
also Nate just posted this to me in the mod forum so I'll address both of you. Guys, those are good points. That's why I made my post and why we're having this discussion. I didn't suspend Zags because I didn't think what he posted was as bad. Both of you are making good arguments that I should have.
Natebishop is right that post would have been just deleted if it were a male poster. The irony here is that MM was suspended for a post where he was actually right: It's odd that this new 2013 poster dishes more insults out than anyone on this forum, but one insult thrown at "her" and a long-time poster is suspended for 3 days. That's injustice. No justice, no peace
To be 100% clear, I should've added this: I don't think you can suspend one and not the other as the circumstances for "banishment" are almost mirror reflections of each other. Both have been warned numerous times both publicly and privately, both attacked posters, and Zags (whether you think the attack was "less offensive" or not) attacked a poster who could not defend themselves from his words. He knew this. Zags is not an idiot nor is MM. They are both aware of the "rules". To pile on, Zags attacked the poster shortly after being reminded "not to aggravate Mediocre Man", yet consciously did it anyways. In summary, ban both or ban neither is what I was getting at. If Mediocre Man hadn't already been suspended, I'd be leaning towards "ban neither" just because its a message board and people need to take it a little less seriously and gain some self-control and use the features presented to them, such as ignore.
One mod does and he just has sour grapes because I outed him but whatever. 2 mods sounds better though. Of course the mediocre one wants me banned. He's trying to deflect attention.
As for my comment are you really trying to ban me for calling BS on another one of MM's tall tales? Everything is racial with him. What better way to not act like a racist then say he adopted a bunch of black teenagers with funny names.
