MM was not right for what he posted. How do you figure? Actually your post just made the strongest argument for Zags to have been suspended. Calling someone a liar for saying that they are a woman is just as bad as saying someone is a liar for saying that had black foster kids.
The fact the new 2013 poster is modded differently because the poster is allegedly a female, which is exactly what Natebishop said as well.
No one wants to ban you. At worst all we're talking about is a suspension. Mainly this is more about how people want this forum moderated and what behavior will be tolerated going forward.
There's really only one thing that I want enforced around here. If you're permanently banned, that's it. You can't come back under another name, and if you're found out, you're gone on that name as well. Tired of "permanently" banning people only to tolerate them under a different user name.

The new poster is not being moderated differently. When we have more serious problems with a poster I and/or other mods talk to them via PM first which is what I've been doing with BF, just like I have done with MM, Zags, Mixum/Carlito and OdenIsGod in the past. If there continues to be problems then other measures are taken.
That's not the point Sly. If MM had called me an asshole, or called Mags an asshole, you would have just edited his post and that would have been it. He called BF a whore and you rushed in and suspended him for three days. You defended her differently than you would have defended any of the male posters on this forum.
You're right. This will be the 3rd time now in this thread that I've said IMO calling a woman a whore is worse than calling someone an asshole or liar. I'll own that. That doesn't mean I'm favoring her. Hell, she was giving a bad time for editing her posts last night.
I know it's not intentional. I think we, as men, are conditioned to react differently when women are called whores or ****s or some other such abrasive insult. There are words that are simply not used unless you really want to make a point, and those words make us cringe when they are used around women. Conversely, we're pretty much numb to guys calling other guys assholes.
If you believe that insulting a woman is worse than insulting a man, you are favoring her (because she's a woman.)
MM said what he did because he knew it was directed at a poster that has been throwing around insults in every other post the past week or so. Maybe he thought the poster could "take it like a man"? MM was clearly provoked.
Exactly! A permanent ban should be permanent. Reminds me of when Roy Tarpley received a lifetime ban from the NBA and was back playing for the Mavs three years later. BNM
I don't agree. I think context matters. If you call Zags a fa88ot I'm going to edit or delete the post. If you call Kingspeed a fa88ot I'll be inclined to suspend that person. I don't think it was just by random that MM used the word whore to her. He could have used asshole or douche or... but he used whore. A word that I don't recall him ever using to insult other members. He specifically used that word to provoke a reaction out of her.
