So, KS isn't manic, he's manic-depressive, check. I recognize this trait in most of the posters here, me included. We have our big 3, so besides winning a championship, this is the best possible result that could have happened this season. Again, we played a team with 2 1st overall picks in the flower of their youth with our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string centers sidelined, and with our 4th string center playing only 10 minutes because of injury. In that game our 2 supershooting stars were having very poor shooting nights and we still lost by only 1 point on the road with one of our supershooters missing a midrange shot for the win. Sounds pretty good, to me. Making the playoffs and losing to GS, even if it's another "moral victory" isn't that much better than a late lottery pick. #we'vealreadysucceededbaby #almosttime4neiltodohisthang
I want to personally congratulate KingSpeed on his new found acceptance of reality. This is a big step forward for him. Welcome, King. You are among friends here.
In my humble opinion, for most of the year, this team has been nearly unwatchable. Nurk saved the day! He made the flow of play fun to watch. He made the entire team better. Well, we have next year. Until then we might as well watch reruns of Gilligans Island, at least they end up with a pleasant outcome. (almost said happy ending, but, well, this board....)
Hey, I'm all for rooting for the Blazers. No question there. Just as long as people are realistic about it. Thinking that because we beat them in one game that we can somehow take GS to 7 games in the WCF and win is asinine and ridiculous.
Worst case is the Blazers limp into 8th seed and Nerk comes back. Fans are pumped and Nerk goes down again.
The Utah loss demonstrated a few things. First, the team reacted slow footed and did not deny their offense. The defense absolutely sucked. PATHETIC WORK. That one Utah player ran the entire length of the court and made a basic high school lay up. Second, the team reacted lethargically on a visitors court to the point where this group will be embarrassed if a carbon copy of that game occurs. They appeared dull and uninterested. Third, it is true that Nurk is the catalyst that opened the offensive plays, penetrated to the rim and grabbed rebounds. Our teams spirit was reminiscent of the Blazers team prior to the Nurk . Truth be told that if a Blazers team executes like it did last night, they have no business joining the playoff tournament.
Well it could happen. I would hate to see him rush back for the playoffs. Not to mention, our luck with good centers isn't that great.
A win tomorrow will make me feel better. After the Denver loss tonight, I suddenly think it's in play that Denver loses out.
54 is my lucky number....I predict that even in a lockout season with Felton on the team.....I vote for anybody who looked at the roster and said less than 30 wins
