Some of my brain cells imploded reading the logic of the first post. And now we have to hear sloth brag about having the number one pick...ugh....

I just can't believe people are disappointed with the #10 pick. It's like going all in with 2-7 and being disappointed when you don't win the pot.

Yeah we had a ~87% chance to get the 10th pick, and the chances of getting any other pick were no more than ~3% per position.
there was a greater chance of us moving down a spot than moving up... so im fine with what we expected all along. i was dissapointed too at first the odds of us moving up were really slim. Bulls just got crazy lucky

Razel, I totally agree with you. Camby's defense is overrated (he gets blocks by leaving the post open) and with age (34) he is slowing down. However, the beauty of this deal is that Camby has 2 years on a decreasing contract. This season he'll make $8M and the following he'll make $7.65. Which basically means that he'll be making his fair value, he'll cover our rebounding deficiencies, and his contract expires in time for the Sweepstakes of 2010. Plus, (someone correct me if I'm wrong), new contract year starts on July 1. Technically, this year Camby is still making $10M. Thus if the Nets trade for Anthony/Camby on or very soon after the draft night, they get to package an extra $2M in contracts. I think this is an excellent trade for New Jersey.
Indeed, it is a pipe dream. And Camby is on his way down, but I think he'd be a good teacher for Sean on and off the court and as his play time decreases within a year or two, Sean's will increase, perhaps being a starter and having Camby come off the bench for certain occasions.

Otherwise I'd pull the trigger. But Denver probably wouldn't.
So RJ+Swill+Mwill+KVH'S CONTRACT+10TH PICK = Melo & Camby? So if this deal gets done then.. PG Devin Harris/Darrel Armstrong SG Vince Carter/Maurice Ager SF Carmelo Anthony/Boki Nachbar?/ Julius Hodge?/Trenton Hassel PF Josh Boone/Stromile Swift/ Nenad Krstic(If resigned) C Marcus Camby/Desagana Diop(If resigned) Also we have the 21st & 40th pick... So how is this team looking so far? Thoughts?
no problem...we trade for bargnani and we get a #1 pick! we also got #2 overall stromile swift...how lucky can we get!
i think instead of swill they might want swifts expiring... if swift doesnt opt out and its a player option he would have 1 season of like 6.8 million or something, the nets can use that as trade bait or even hassel's contract its close to expiring... i think the nuggets are tryin to get in a better financial situation
If Camby comes here he probably will see a dip in his production because he won't have the opportunities like he has in Denver not because of his age. He's still playing at the top of his game and one of the best centers in the league period. He can easily play out his remaining contract at a very high level for us between any injuries he may have along the way. He's much more than just a shot blocker and rebounder and for the peantus we're giving up in these scenarios it's insane he's even in the offers at all.
