there's a workaround here. If you cook the burger in BBQ sauce, then add light mayo to a toasted bun, it ends up becoming quite tasty.

Mayonnaise is the Lords condiment. It’s been a while since I studied it, but I believe that’s in Song of Solomon

For the vast vast vast vast vast majority of NBA title winning teams, yes, the leader is 6'6" and over and under 33. Even for the ones over age 33, they are all over 6'6".

Yes exactly. I said a star leading his team to a title, as nobody is saying we need to bring in a new all NBA first team player to make the Blazers his team, and move Dame back to play a robin supporting role. Dirk and Steph were the same age as Dame, thus they were not older than Dame. So we have one season, this year, to acquire all the talent to win with Dame. Are any of the trades shipping out #3 getting us a title this season?

After that point the only time a player older than Dame lead a team to a title was MJ LBJ Wilt Kareem. It's crazy that Kobe was many years younger when he won his 5th and final ring.

Initially when I found this research it was looking more at title winning PGs. But seeing these age stats really had me revisit the viability of winning a title with Dame leading the way. There's no examples of it happening outside those top5 all time NBA greats. Doesn't sound like a smart strategy if you look objectively at the best path for the Blazers chance to build a contender.

Kareem wasn't overlooked, him Wilt MJ LBJ are the 4 players older than Dame to lead a team to a title. That's it.

Yeah if Zion hits maybe he could be the leader of the Blazers being a contender. It's a lot of risk the whole thing is a disaster, but that move does have title winning upside unlike these Siakam Porzingis Ayton type of ideas.

Maybe it could happen, it's just extremely rare at Dames age. I said we have one year this season starting in a few months to do it, after which the sample size becomes only 4 players who have done it in NBA history in MJ LBJ Wilt Kareem. Could Dame jump into that group in 2025 or later? Maybe but I find it extremely unlikely, it's much more likely we get a title building around a new younger core even if that is very unlikely, there's many dozens of examples of it happening.

So Cronin's timeline to build a contender is now, or move on and rebuild. That's it.

Incorrect. Kareem wasn't listed and Curry was older then Dame 2 years ago when he last won a title.

    obviously completely true

The fact is that Cronin really only has right now to make that decision and I honestly hope he's more shrewd about it than I would be as a fan. I hope Joe takes a cold look at the situation and all of the options and decides whether or not it's realistic for us to put a contender together around Dame. If Joe rationally thinks we can do it (and I think the window is way closer to four years than one) then I hope Joe goes all in. If he makes the rational decision that it's not going to happen he needs to have the guts to tell Dame and start a youth rebuild right now. There is no way for this to work half in and half out... it's all in one way or the other and it needs to happen now.

Usually a top 10 defense is also mentioned, but since Denver wasn't one, I guess that got conveniently dropped.

Even if it's a fake news story like Shaedon Sharpe suddenly growing to 6'8" it gets it's own thread around here. Where ya been?
