Let's enjoy Enes while it lasts. Other teams are watching him play too and someone will throw money at him, where we won't be able to compete.
    Let's say $10-$12 mil.
Here is the more likely scenario: Enes signs with another team (Hornets). His new team stinks and midway through next season, we trade Meyers for Enes.

    Question.

Is it possible to sign a future contract or a heavily padded contract in later years?

Like sign him for mle for one year with gursntee of another salary?

Or sign him but on a salary where he gets paind mle wage next year but more in later yesrs?

    Say:

    Year one...4.2 mill
    Year two...5.9 mill
    Year three...9.9 mill
    Year four...15 mill

He has already been paid. He doesn't need money right away.

Good problem to have though, no?

Better than many other potential problems.

Oshley needs to be fired ON THE SPOT if Kanter isn't re-signed.

It might be out of his hands.

Currently, the best we can offer Kanter is a deal starting at $5-6 mil per season with something like 10-15% growth each season. So, it’s really out of Neil’s hands. Kanter will likely be offered at least Meyers’ money by other teams...

I'm 2500 miles away right now, but you guys going to Game 4 need to definitely start up a Camby-level EN-ES KAN-TER cheer.

That might be the dumbest thing I've seen on this board and that is saying a lot considering I have almost 30K posts of my own on here to wade through.

They chanted for him multiple times during the game.... but it wasn't the usual two syllable - two syllable chant.

It was just "Kanter! Kanter! Kanter!"

They should really chant "MVP" when he's at the FT line (as long as the team is way ahead)

He's not playing like a guy who is going to immediately sign somewhere else when they throw a bigger offer at him.

He's playing like a guy who loves this team more than he loves himself.

I think he agrees to an amount that keeps him here next year with year 2&3 pay days.

Well, you could've said the same thing about Theo Ratliff back when he was in Portland.

You could also say he's playing this way to show a team he'll go all out for the team, which is a great selling point for his services.

This off season will go a long way to show the pull of Damian Lillard. If he can get Curry, Hood and Kanter to re-sign (at the most the Blazers can offer each of them), it will start to show that players WANT to play with him.
