IF - and that is a huge IF - you can swing a deal for high draft picks you do a S&T. Otherwise, the S&T is a trap. You won't get enough talent back to replace LMA while cluttering up the roster and blocking a rebuild.
Actually, if ALL of the players in that trade are expiring contracts, AND the 21st pick is the best we could do, then I'd do it. But if any of those contracts extend beyond the 15/16 season I wouldn't do it.
You never know with the Spurs. But I was just giving the example of the type of 1 player you could get in return.
Honestly, Kawhi Leonard is worth way more than Aldridge. Also don't know why Aldridge would agree to go to SA if Leonard wasn't there.
We don't have to sign a premier free agent. I don't expect us to. What we can do, is sign a bunch of good quality guys (like what Atlanta did a few years back), improve depth. Or use it for lopsided trades to try and get draft picks.
We can agree to disagree about the value. And as I already mentioned, I'm talking about the caliber of a single player.
Dude, you don't do it for guys with multiple year deals. You're collecting assets and making the best of a bad situation. Next year, you'll still have your precious capspace.
You do if they can shore up a good bench later and you get a nice pick out of it. Cap space in Portland is basically useless for attracting a FA, but if you can find a couple diamonds in the rough, gather picks, and use your remaining space to be the third team in a lopsided trade, there's some options.
We can't. Vlade knows what they have in him and they are not trading him away. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...es-that-he-will-only-trade-cousins-for-jordan
I hope someone is able to come up with a viable* way of getting him so we can keep this dream alive! *A viable way that doesn't include Meyers, Lillard...or CJ.
Man, a frontcourt of Meyers/Cousins would work absolutely perfectly. Sigh. Sadly it will remain a dream
