ONCE AGAIN, the only team that wins when trading a generational talent, is the team RECEIVING that generational talent.

That’s all well and good but I’m not really pumped about Marcus Smart.

CJ is wanted. Boston doesn't have enough with what they're willing to trade. Simmons looks to potentially be off the board now, if you believe all the noise out of Philly. I love CJ, but also know he is the only major chip to potentially get better. I do believe his underwhelming performance in the playoffs was partially due to not being totally healthy after the fracture. But if we aren't getting truly better by trading him because fair compensation isn't available, then i don't want him traded. As a Rockies Fan, I know what it's like to have inept leadership trade a generational talent(Arenado) for a cheese sandwich & chips to be named later, and agree to pay said team part of his salary going forward. Maybe the most stupid trade in pro sports history. Fair compensation MUST be returned.

The right fit must be returned but CJ isn't a generational player. Obviously I don't think we have to settle for Marcus Smart and scraps but that's mostly because Marcus Smart is a bad fit. That might be the right value coming back for CJ though.

I don't believe any of the noise that Simmons is off the board, they're just trying to rebuild his value after Doc trashed him. I also don't believe that CJ is off limits anymore (at least he better not be). So we'll see what happens. We'll get a new coach soon and then I think we might be active around the draft, when all of the GMs are talking and something that makes sense should come up.

Agree on CJ ,but Nolan Arenado is. What the Rockies did would be like the Bucks trading Giannis to the Blazers for Giles , rights to a couple G leaguers, and then sending the Blazers money to pay 1 and a half years of his salary.

While in general I'm for any trade that benefits the franchise (even trading Dame), the only major move I'd trust Olshey making is resigning. Sucks that such a peon has presided over DL's career without ever coming close to assembling a cast with a realistic chance of competing for a title.

I don’t think Bos has enough pieces they are willing to trade for CJ and I’m not a big Smart fan. However I could see Billups liking Smart a lot. Possibly a 3 way deal to get more assets back to Portland.

If it’s Bos it would have to be for Smart/Williams and another piece from another team(Herro?) I’d rather have Robert Willams backing up Nurk than Kanter.

    Dame/Ant
    Smart/Herro
    Powell/Nas
    RoCo/Collins
    Nurk/Willams

    Is that any better?

I will be really fucking pissed if we go into this next season with a starting lineup that features three guys listed as being under 6'4". The CJ trade needs to bring us back a starting caliber forward.
