If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

    Ingram.

    I would love Butler though

Maybe for the same reason, his other 3 teams did. I am not sure what the problem is with Jimmy, or if there is a problem,
but for a defensive star, I often see him dominate the ball on offense. He doesn't shoot too much, but he does seem to dribble a lot.
Maybe the coaches want him to but I can't but help wonder if he just likes to control the ball.

Miami's offense in the Bubble was great. Miami's offense this year against the Bucks was ugly. And from what I saw it was Jimmy trying to run the show.
He also shot like shit. 4-17, 7-17, 4-10, 4-22. Is Jimmy coachable? He seems like an arrogant guy who thinks he is better on offense than he actually is.
Maybe Dame could control him. I just think he would work best if he was happy being the 3rd option on offense. But is he really ever happy?

Kemba’s knee is also fucked up. Don’t think CJ has the injury history (and risk) of Kemba. CJ’s value, though not through the roof, is still higher than Kemba’s right now. At least I sure as fuck hope it is.

Depending on the result of the 6ers/Hawks series, Ben Simmons has to be the guy we get. Paul George now not available. If the Bucks win vs Brooklyn, there’s almost no way they trade Middleton. Ben is pretty much at the lowest value he’s ever been at and will probably be the most attainable star. He’s big enough to play center, we have to play him at C unless Zach can work his way back into the starting lineup.

D’Antoni coaching a Dame/Norm/Covington/______/Simmons starting lineup I wouldn’t mind. Let Simmons handle the ball in the open court and Dame handle the ball in the half court. Simmons just can’t be your primary ball handler in the half court but he’s a better playmaker than Nurk and can literally guard 1-5.

Hypothetically, if Stotts was still the coach and we got Simmons, would he attempt any more 3s than he has in Phili? Dude just loves the NBA lifestyle but unfortunately he’s always on social media and in an age of memes, an attempted-and-missed 3 means a lot more to him than it should. There’s pretty much no other way to play him and have success other than at PF, with a C who can catch and shoot, or at C.

At this point, his value is so low (the guys going back to Phili in trade suggestions from an article I read this morning: Mike Conley sign-and-trade, John Wall, Demar Derozan sign-and-trade, Kevin Love) that I think it would be worth it. If Dame still wants to leave in say a year or two, Ben and Dame traded away has to be able to net us close to 10 1sts.

Highlights from some of his games where he play majority of his minutes at C:

OK, this is one is pretty far out there. But what if we can't find a trade where we add assets to CJ and try to get a better player and better fit? Lakers could really use a good SG. I just saw that Kuzma is on his way out of LA.. He hasn't turned out to be the player he once seemed he might be, doesn't shoot threes particularly well and only 70% on FT's. Average defender. But we could sure improve our depth. Would require something like Kuzma, Harrel, Horton-Tucker or Caruso and Kaldwell Pope (to make salaries match).

You’re right, that IS pretty far out there. Like...yikes, no thank you. Why exactly would this trade be better than one with NY where we would most likely get back one of their young guys and at least one 1st and some salary space? Harrell isn’t even better than Kanter. Kuzma isn’t a starter. KCP is a decent 3-D guy but isn’t better than Powell. I’d rather give Simons minutes than THT. Caruso, fine, but he can’t be the best piece coming back in a CJ deal. And not a single 1st coming back with that pile of hot garbäge.

I don’t see this move as improving our depth at all.

THT is the only Laker worth anything on that entire roster aside from AD/Bron.

I don’t want “clutch” Simmons! Coach just benched him with 54 seconds and the ball?

    pass

Ok….if you want Simmons, straight up for CJ - maybe throw in Lou Williams - but CJ is better than Simmons and I’m not a CJ fan

CJ is not better than Ben Simmons. Simmons has his faults, but so does CJ.

I'd love to see Simmons on our team with Powell starting at the 2.

Simmons for CJ is the most obvious trade that hasn’t happened yet but probably will since I’ve been alive

Simmons does a lot-defense, passing, rebounding but scoring, not so much.

CJ scores but those other things? Not so much.

I’ll take the guy with three abilities rather than the one with only one.

    A lineup of
    Dame
    Powell
    Simmons
    Roco
    Nurk

would give a lot of teams nightmares
