If CJ were to be traded, who are we most likely to get?

I really don't understand the people drinking the "Wiggins is suddenly good" Kool-Aid. EVERY SINGLE TEAM he has played significant minutes on has SUCKED. And he has a HUGE contract.

I hope CJ someday has his own team. It may not be a good team, but he'll look GREAT! Even Dame never did something like this:

They're interested in SOMEBODY, and more than the picks. They're probably gunshy about using those picks after fucking up so royally with Wiseman.

He's fantastic defensively and he can score the ball on multiple levels. I know that hasn't translated into wins but when you consider the fact that the Warriors only finished three games behind us last season, we don't have much room to judge players by the wins their team gets.

I know we've talked ad nauseum about Jalen Suggs and I really like him. Anyone think there's a chance if he's available at #3 that the Cavs would take CJ for the #3 pick and Kevin Love? I didn't wade through the previous 42 pages here and I'm sure it's been bantered about. We'd bring a serviceable big man back to Portland and keep a potential generational-type player in the Northwest verses finding his way to the Twolves.

Don't blast me... just spit balling here.

    I'd rather get Mobley.

I can see Beal ending up in Golden State.

Curry/Beal/Thompson/Green/???? (They would likely get a solid FA vet center to play with that group.)

    Not a bad core 4.

    Most obvious 3-team trade:

PHI Gets: C.J. McCollum, Chris Boucher
TOR Gets: Ben Simmons, 2022 POR 1st
    POR Gets: Pascal Siakam

I still think their window is closed. I think it's going to take them one more year to realize it.

I’m not mad at this. Just give Little the starting job and force feed him 24mpg. Let’s see if he can ever earn his way to 30mpg until Siakam is back.
I don’t like giving up a 1st rounder for a third straight year though. I’d rather it be a pick in 2024 or if we give up our 2022 1st, we also trade DJJ for George Hill. They make the same money and at least we would have a backup PG.

will you please let the RPM argument die a very deserved death? It's a fucked up noisy stat ever since ESPN changed the formula:

    upload_2021-7-24_21-0-8.png

    it's become totally unreliable

CJ is not a better player than Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, Jimmy Butler, Julius Randle, Zion Williamson, Bam Adebayo, Luca Doncic, Jrue Holiday, Donovan Mitchell, Kawhi Leonard, Zach Lavine, Jayson Tatum, Tobias Harris, Devin Booker, Trae Young, Khris Middleton, Domantas Sabonis, Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, KAT, Deandre Ayton, Brandon Ingram, Pascal Siakam & Draymond Green

and yes, according to RPM he is better than all those players, in many cases, he's more than twice as good.

and by the way, Beal is as much a PG as CJ

Exactly. If CJ were really that 'valuable', he would be fetching ridiculous offers with multiple assets/draft picks coming back.

This is why I think it’s crucial we get someone like Batum in free agency. Not only would he be able to start until Siakam back but he would give us a nice group of forwards of Siakam, RoCo, Batum, little, and if we keep him DJ. And not to mention Powell can play the 3 sometime. It is a nice group of versatile two way players that I bet would fit with Billups scheme very well.

Yeah this is something I’d jump at if possible. The Kevin Love contact doesn’t hurt much if everything fails and Dame is gone, and in that case, we’d have Suggs with a full year learning under Dame before he leaves. #3 will land either of the Jalens which I would be happy with. I’d even consider CJ + future 1st for Love + #3 which would be a lot more likely than just CJ for Love + #3.
But I don’t see why the Cavs would ever be interested. CJ is a better player than Sexton, but why would they want CJ if they could draft either Green or Suggs to pair with Garland? Garland is going into year 3, it’d be better to draft someone to go with his timeline. Trading for CJ would mean they’re going for the playoffs next season, but I don’t see them even close to being in playoff contention.

You draft picks for CJ guys would be all over a talent like this, saying, oh he could change the team, trade CJ now for him. CJ does many of these things now. Not saying they shouldn't trade him to Philly for Simmons. I think it's gonna happen. But Cheesy unproven draftpicks don't excite me, AT ALL. The Blazers aren't as far away as many seem to think. CJ in Philly might maximize his talent. I would hope so. I look forward to a '77 Finals repeat. It's gonna be fun. Blazers in 7.

Before the injuries to Wall, the Wizards were a great up and coming team that won three playoff series early in Beal's career. And even if you're fixated on the last couple years, wasn't Devin Booker a "inflated stats on a bad team" player too? With the right team around him, he made the Finals!

I wonder what CJ would look like with Devin Booker's teammates.
