I think it's up to you, your parents, and others like your parents to demand more from their church and ministers. I'm glad to know that there are people who don't agree with the mixture of politics with Gods words, but it might take leaving the congregation and finding a new one to get the message to the church leaders. If the flock keeps thinning, I would expect the focus would return to the bible and away from politics.
natural disasters can be perverted to any view really clearly god hates jews clearly god hates gays clearly god hates money clearly god hates the mafia clearly god hates jersey shore you get the point
If the gay person is drowning puppies, then yes, that behavior is wrong. If they are however loving someone of their choosing, there is nothing wrong with that. unless that person is republican
Sure it does. If you want to manufacture hate. And that's been the mantra of the left for many years now- create hate and try and use it to turn people to you. This thread is a classic example.
Nobody is manufacturing anything. There are elements of the "christian" right that have been spewing this BS for years. It's called fear-mongering, and they "use it to turn people to you."
being gay is no more wrong than being into black chicks or doggystyle (or both) point being it is just a personal preference on what gets you off... something you dont control, and something that is really nobody elses business (unless you want it to be, flaunting is anyones right) the bible literalists need to get some perspective and stop selectively following the bible word for word, lest they start marrying off rape victims or killing people for beating off
What about the elements of the "Christian" left? Like the church that President Obama attended for 20 years. His reverend preaches hate for white people and the country in general. Go Blazers
This movie's a few year's old, but I think it's fitting with this topic. The whole thing is available to watch on YouTube.
I thought you were going to link Red State. That movie could have been sooo much better, but Kevin Smith basically seemed to mail it in once he wrote some great scenes for Michael Parks.
Excuse me, oldguy. Can you tell me, with link and/or citation, when Rev. Wright said his god sent hurricanes to wipe out major American cities because he was so furious about the presence of white people?
Pffft Everybody knows that carbon dioxide from smokestacks and rednecks who drive SUVs cause hurricanes. This movie told me the truth, inconvenient as it is!
