I don't think it's his fault. I do think he's been lucky Hibbert and others said no or were matched though
I can get on board with that with one exception. I wonder if Hibberts downslide has more to do with environment than him? I'm not sure he is all washed up as many think. Do I want him? No. But in the right environment he might have a few more good years left.
Neil's been after bigs for years; it's not hard to see why. Even a healthy Meyers would have netted us one more win against Golden State. An Enis Kanter or Greg Monroe would have taken it to seven or even won the series. We're close, but undersized. Hibbert is only a mistake in hindsight, but I don't think any of them would have been net negative for us this season.
Hibbert wasn't a mistake. He was a DPOY candidate for half his contract. Even in his current useless state he still proved to be movable for nothing.
dude doesn't even look like he jumps lol which is prolly good for a body of that size in the long run of things
After that Game 7 against MIA, Biyombo is about to be seriously overpaid by someone. I hope it's not us. People will remember that he went for 17 and 16 in a Game 7 to help his team advance. What they won't also remember is that he did it against a MIA team with ZERO healthy big men. Their biggest starter was Luol Deng who spent most of his career as a SF, but has been forced to be a PF due to MIA's lack off big men. Biyombo did most of his damage against Josh McRoberts, a soft perimeter "big" man not know for his low post defense. That 17 points was a season high for Biyombo. He's athletic, strong and has a good motor, but is also undersized and very unskilled. He doesn't have the range on his shot to play PF and doesn't have the size to match up against centers. He would make a decent back up center when playing against teams like GSW that like to go small, but he's not, and never will be, starter material, although he is about to get starter money thrown at him. Other than shot blocking, he's inferior to both Ed Davis and Miles Plumlee. And if he's going to get a big contract based on one big playoff game against an undersized, depleted team, then Miles Plumlee should be a max contract player because he had an even bigger playoff game against a full-strength Clipper team that had a healthy Deandre Jordan, Blake Griffin and Cole Aldrich manning the paint. If we could get him cheap, it would be worth it just so he could guard Draymond when we play the Warriors and they go small, but he won't be cheap. So, I'd scratch him off the list. BNM
I would trade Plumlee before I'd trade Ed. Ed is kind of smallish, but he says he's going to work on that, and I believe him.
And starts his jump from too far out. It's good to go up strong, but it would be nice if he would make a move or fake or spin or something first.
which are all things he has shown to be capable of, but until he gets a mid range shot aint no body gunna bite on that pump fake
If Horford doesn't resign with ATL, first, I hope he signs with us and not HOU. Second, if they lose Horford, I hope ATL decides to make Millsap available and not risk also losing him for nothing a year from now. Like Horford, Millsap is a little older than our core, but he is a great 2-way player. He's always been a good rebounder, steadily improved his offensive game and has now taken his defense to another level. He came in 5th in DPOY voting, and quite frankly should have come in higher. He was the only player in the league to be top 10 in both BLKS (5th) and STLs (9th). He led the league in Defensive Win Shares, was 3rd in Defensive Box Plus/Minus and 4th in DRtg. And he also averaged 17 ppg and 9 rpg. Because he's way above average on both ends, he's also a top 15 player in many advanced metrics like VORP (10th). Total Win Shares (13th) and Box Plus/Minus (10th). He's a 21+ PER player with a lot of post season experience that doesn't wilt in the playoffs. Add him to our roster and we'd immediately be much better on both ends of the court. Horford would be nice, but if we can't get him and someone else does, I'd go hard at ATL for Millsap. He's the kind of proven, experienced, 2-way player we need to take this team to the next level. BNM
June 24, 2010: Traded a 2012 1st round draft pick (Fab Melowas later selected) to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Eric Bledsoe. Ouch!
the price of a rim protecting, scoring big man would allow us to keep Plumlee and Davis if we didn't match Meyers and let Kaman retire. Both Davis and Plumlee are on really affordable deals.
Top Assist/Turnover Ratio for Forwards or Centers (more than 1.0 apg): 1. Josh McRoberts, 2.71 a/t (1.9 apg) 2. Al Horford, 2.46 a/t (3.2 apg) 3. Draymond Green, 2.32 a/t (7.4 apg) 4. Al Jefferson, 2.14 a/t (1.5 apg) 5. Joakim Noah, 2.11 a/t (3.8 apg) 6. Blake Griffin, 2.04 a/t (4.9 apg) 7. Aaron Gordon, 2.00 a/t (1.6 apg) 8. David West, 2.00 a/t (1.8 apg) 9. Harrison Barnes, 2.00 a/t (1.8 apg) 10. Andrew Bogut, 1.92 a/t (2.3 apg) 90. Dwight Howard, 0.61 a/t (1.4 apg) (out of 90 qualifying Forwards and Centers) Dwight Howard certainly has his strengths, but Al Horford is a better fit in my opinion.
