The only statute that should be outside the Moda is the statute of limitations, FAMS! otherwise, fuck the rules!
I'd only have Drexler right now. Best Blazer in franchise history, though Lillard will likely eclipse him and others might argue already has. Walton I can see why others might vote him, he just wasn't part of the team long enough IMO. Would Toronto put a statue of Kawhi out front? First seasons Walton was an irrelevant rookie for a non playoff team. Basically one great title year, then first half the next season he gets injured and his Blazers career was over. Kanter played in more playoffs for us. I'm not strongly opposed to a Walton statue, I'd just lean towards no. I might even rank Roy ahead of Walton, or Sheed, Sabas, etc. Bill Schonely I'd be fine with, but I'd lean towards only having players, so no. Lillard should have one but it shouldn't be confirmed or go up until the player is a few years removed from retirement.
I've never understood the theory why sports waits so long to honor people. Lots of times, it seems like we wait to honor people the most after they've died (see Bill Russell). It's always made more sense to me to give people their recognition as soon as you know its time because you never know what might happen (see Kobe). If Dame asked for a trade tomorrow, he should still get a statue, so I'd have zero problem honoring him now.
We can all have player thoughts, but if Harry Glickman, or Bill Schonley aren't involved than, fugettaboutit...
I look at Harry as the father of the Blazers...to me he's the ground zero of the Blazers...if it were players it should be the 77 championship team Mt Rushmore
There’s a street named after Drexler. That’s enough. Only people who brought us a championship should be immortalized with a statue in my opinion. Jack and Bill. Maybe Shonz. No one else.
