I went away for the 2016 election, that turned out to be a terrible mistake. I am staying home this time. barfo
My sister lives out on 40+ acres in Dickey Prairie, several miles out of Molalla. That is a WHOLE ‘nother world out there. Hard to believe that mind set exists anywhere, let alone just outside of Portland. The land that the 21st (Or even the 20th) century forgot, if it ever even knew it existed. But as long as it stays there.............
I remember the night that Obama won his first presidency. The team was traveling to SLC after a game and we walked into the hotel right as they announced he won. Our team hotel was the headquarters for the State of Utah Republican Party election night party....... I've never seen so many sad/mad white people at once. And picture there faces when and NBA team comes walking through the lobby celebrating like we had just won the title. What a surreal moment I'll never forget!
Samsies. I've told the story here before, but I ended up at Spirit of 77 watching the country collapse before my very eyes on the big screen standing next to my conservative father. "Give him a chance," he said. "He's a businessman" as around us strangers were consoling each other, embracing in tears, and my house kept calling, begging me to come home, and my friend who started the night saying he didn't care who won, now was now seated on the sidewalk, leaning against the building, mutteringly drunk and carrying on about how nothing matters... Fuck that night.
The good news is that Trump's re-election doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. This could be the greatest wipe out in recorded history.
I was convinced we’d have the first woman as president and she would be up for re-election now. I didn’t think there was any way in hell the other doofus from NY State would win. Joe’s got this on!
Don't you at least take some consolation in the fact that Hillary wasn't the first woman president? She's awful. No redeeming qualities. There has to be a better candidate out there. I might not agree with all of Obama's politics and decisions, but he couldn't have been a classier President. When people look back many years from now, the guy will hold up as a solid first black President.
