Well deserved Z, he's the second Cavs player to get the Player of the week title in this season, I think it's 10 teams now, who got two players win this "player of the week-title":
    Denver Nuggets (Lenard and Anthony)
    Seattle Supersonics (Lewis and Allen)
    Minnesota Timberwolves (Cassell and Garnett)
    Miami Heat (Wade and Odom)
    Detroit Pistons (Billups and Wallace)
New York Knicks (Mutombo and Marbury)
New Jersey Nets (Martin and Kidd)
Los Angeles Lakers (Bryant and O'Neal)
Los Angeles Clippers (Richardson and Brand).
And now Cleveland Cavaliers (Boozer and Illgauskas). [IMG]

z's doing great and I think he's got at least a few more great years in front of him, but obviously he's not going to be around forever and I was under the impression the cavs would try to look to the draft for a young center

That's great to hear. Z's been playing great, and contributing to the teams amazing playoff run. He desirved this reward. hopefully he and the rest of the team will keep this up until the end of the season, and into the playoffs.

Z and Boozer (as well as Batman off the bench) make up one of the best frontcourts in the Eastern Conference.

Just one man's humble opinion, but I feel if we make the playoffs.... that frontcourt advantage is going to have to be exploited big time.

I didn't say we were THE best... I said one of the best.

I think our frontcourt is as good as Detroit's anyway.

Cavs have the 2nd best frontcourt in the east, infact thats what wins the Cavs games. Of course Lebron has had a great season and is a big reason why the Cavs have been so impressive but the frontcourt has been the key.

To be honest after Detroit's frontcourt of Wallace, Wallace, Okur, Campbell, Prince, Williamson and Cavs of Boozer, big Z, Williams, Battie e.t.c only the Pacers have a decent frontcourt in the east. Of course the Nets are damn good with K-mart and RJ but their center position is very poor.

z's only in his what, 6th or 7th year? that's not too bad for a big center that doesn't run much. he *could* be effective for another 10 years. his foot surgeries could cut into that, and just good old fashioned bad luck, but i wouldn't be so quick to think Z is an old man. he's way under 30 and most tall centers play their best from 25-35.

right, in my opinion z is just entering his prime, but when we have players like lebron who is 19, dajuan who is 21, boozer who is 22, kapono who is 22, diop who is 21, kedrick brown who is 22 (some ages might be a year off) - well that's a group of players that can play for many years in the future before reaching their peak and decline. I love z but he won't be the best center in the east for more than a few more years and we should try getting a great young center to maybe allow z when he gets older to come off the bench and not have to log as many minutes. I'd say pretty much every team in the nba is looking for such a player though, so it won't be easy

Z to me has 5 years as a starter in the NBA left in him. This is of course if he doesn't break down again. Big if there.

Also in 5 years, Diop will almost be ready to be a contributor.

I have a hard time questioning you on your Z knowledge. But, I would say Z has a good 3 to 5 years left. There's a lot of wear and tear on them big bones. One more injury to his feet and he's pretty much done at this point.
