That's a new one on me.

 

As much as I like to think I understand His teachings, I'm certainly not going to claim to have a perfect handle on them. Just last month I heard an explanation of the parable of the good shepherd that was completely new to me, and made me completely re-think the meaning of that passage. I'm always interested in hearing someone's honest explanation of their interpretation of scripture.

 

"Judge not, that ye be not judged" - Matthew 7:1-5

"...but who are you to judge your neighbor?" - James 4:12

The parable of the servants.

"But, each in his own turn" - Corinthians 1 :15-23


"Look every man not in his own things, but every man also on the things of others." - Philippians 2:4

" Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree and no one will make them afraid" - Micah 4:4

These are but a few examples from the good book. I guess it goes back to interpretation.

 

If you were so inclined, I'd gladly and willingly discuss any of these individually with you (either in a PM or in a separate thread) to come to a mutual understanding of the meaning of each passage. But I'm quite certain that and that were we to approach these honestly, we'd both conclude that none of those mean that people should just do whatever they feel is right (my assumed interpretation of the phrase "to each their own" that you used).

 

My interpretation is more, do what you will and let others do what they will. It's not my place to judge or say what you should do as it's not yours to judge or say what I should do.
