1 transgender woman does well swimming in college last year so we need to change the rules in all middle school, high school, club, and college sports. Including package checking every girl and woman.

    Wow.

According to the estimations, only 0.02 to 0.03 percent of high school players end up playing in the NBA or WNBA. Think about that number. That means out of every 10,000 high school players, only two or three will ever get the chance to play professional basketball!

My suggestion has nothing to do with the swimmer you're referring to.

And I'm not suggesting we change the rules for any league that doesn't want to change them.

I'm simply suggesting a nationwide protection for leagues of cis women who don't want to compete against non-cis women, based on medical data.

If you don't want to have the exam you are free to play in any other league which doesn't do the exam.

I don't think drawing an arbitrary line to say 'these trans people should compete with men, and these other trans people should compete with women' really makes more opportunities for women generally. It's the status quo, except that there would be one national line instead of locally drawn lines. As only a small fraction of athletes are trans, the impact of your proposal on most non-trans athletes will be negligible.

Anyway, the point was that the status quo is fewer opportunities for women, as you pointed out yourself. And given that you are defending the status quo, you are defending fewer opportunities for women.

No. I'm proposing more opportunities for women. More leagues, with a tighter range of ability levels per league.

    I think that's the confusion. You're mis-stating my position.
I'm not defending the status quo. I'm proposing a change. Nothing with my proposal restricts cis women at all.

I'm not at all opposed to more leagues or tighter ranges, and nothing about my proposal limits either of these things.

You're not "creating something new" with a cis women only division, you're just banning trans women

My proposal would be creating a new protection for cis women to compete against people who have the same athletic disadvantages they do, and a method to determine those who qualify to play in the league without targeting any individual.

For example, it would be banning men from competing as well. Only in leagues who choose to do so.

I am agreeing with Yam. All these straight cis men debating what trans women should be allowed to do.
Governors, legislators, almost all straight cis men. Just another case if men insisting they are the ones to make women's decisions.

    I don't think I am.

You are proposing a change, agreed. A change that only effects trans people. Which, for the majority of people, isn't a change at all.

Which is fine - you like the status quo, other than when/whether trans people can compete.

I dislike the status quo and am arguing for the sake of argument, er, I mean, for a radical change.

It doesn't limit it, but it also doesn't implement it either.

No doubt. In our defense here, none of us have any political power whatsoever (that I know of). So we are just idly shooting off our mouths - and feet.

I don't like the status quo. There should be more opportunity for women. Better pay for women. Acknowledgement and unserstanding of the challenges they must overcome to compete.

You haven't proposed anything that would further any of that. In fact, I believe your proposal could damage much progress that has been made in these respects. So I am opposed to that proposal. But that isn't an endorsement of the status quo.

I am debating that women should have more opportunity, more power, and more choice.

But yes, since I have no power, I'm just shooting off at my mouth.

Just reading a couple pages and it comes across as Phat somehow being negative or anti-something but from what I can tell he’s just trying to help or protect cis women. Should men not do that, because they are “once again” trying to make decisions for other people? It’s kind of a lose-lose situation in this case. Be quiet - bad. Speak up - shut up don’t tell us what to do.

Tucker’s New ‘Alex Jones’ Idea: Chemicals in Milk That ‘Turn Kids Trans’

Tucker Carlson sounded just like his good pal and right-wing conspiracy nut Alex Jones on Monday, at one point commenting about chemicals in milk that “turn kids trans.”

The Fox host expressed sympathy during his show for an Amish farmer named Amos Miller who has run into legal trouble over food safety issues identified by the Food and Drug Administration dating back to 2016. The government is seeking $305,065 in fines, and, according to a legal update on the farm website dated last September, has put meat production on hold.

“So they went after gyms, organic farmers, and churches?” Carlson complained, referring also to government restrictions put in place during the COVID pandemic to limit gatherings in enclosed spaces. “So, maybe they’re against anything that’s wholesome and edifying and that makes you stronger and healthier, and are in favor of anything that diminishes you and makes you more dependent? I’m just sensing a theme here.”

Carlson’s guest, a reporter for the right-wing website Rebel News named Jeremy Loffredo, noted that Miller’s organic farm doesn’t use “any gasoline or any fertilizer.” Those two commodities, Loffredo claimed, “have become very expensive because of [President Joe] Biden’s policies in regards to the war in Ukraine and Russia.” The administration, he added, is “coming after [Miller] for it.”

“Maybe if he promises to put more chemicals in the milk that turn kids trans, they’ll lay off,” blurted out Carlson, who has targeted transgender people before. His comment was reminiscent of Jones’ loony theory that the government is “putting chemicals in the water that turn the friggin’ frogs gay.”

Carlson then said federal agents should not have set foot on Miller’s farm to put a hold on production.

“We’re for law enforcement, broadly speaking, but there is such a thing as conscience,” Carlson said. “And they should not have gone along with this. When they tell you to raid an organic Amish farm, that’s when you bow out.”

Rayne wants to identify as a girl. My niece supports her in that decision. Rayne's father does, as well. Rayne has been diagnosed with Asperger's and is currently in a private school that has other trans kids, so it's probably the best situation for her right now. I don't know the name of the private school, but my neice said Rayne is in very good hands, all things considered.

The conversion camp didn't work. Imagine that.

I hope Rayne all the best.
