Authors of the letter told WW they had not heard back from the district as of Thursday morning. “The school’s phone line was clogged with hateful calls. On the same day that a local right-wing radio host spread misinformation on his live talk show, a school window was broken,” the open letter reads. “This Friday, we will not be spending the afternoon celebrating with our queer and trans kids, allies, families and community. Instead, we are on edge. We are scared that transphobic and homophobic adult agitators may descend on Atkinson to further intimidate our community.”

I'll be honest, I had to bail after a few episodes because it was coming out as my life was getting turned upside down, howevah! I did watch the first four (?) episodes and absolutely loved them. It was a revelation seeing a trans woman getting a budget to cast a trans woman as a trans woman and then give her a loving relationship with another woman, and then to also have so much cool ass-kicking. The sci-fi elements were good, it was very JMS and very Wachowski! Still looking forward to finishing it when I find the time.
