    But I didn't say it wouldn't be considered. I said it made the argument less persuasive because it included a personal attack.

    That's just human nature. People who respond to emotionally charged insults are already biased, one way or the other. In my experience this increases polarization rather than reducing it, which is what we need to actually solve these problems and protect our rights. See MAGA.

    OK. Tact isn't always my strong point. And I can't know what is in someone else's head. But both Beagle and I interpreted the comment as comparing marriage equality to hate crime. I have no idea if that was meant but it is significant that two of the three open LGBTQ people on the board independently had the same reaction.

    I completely understand why this is an important and emotional issue. I simply provided feedback that (from my perspective) attacks on posters who are engaging in the discussion seems counterproductive to what appears to be your goal.

    I don't think this discussion among fellow Blazer fans rises to the level of risk as the events you've pointed out, so I don't think responding with vitriol is warranted.

    I think people should start discriminating against people for stuff they can control. Like, you can't start refusing to serve blue eyed people in your business, but you CAN start refusing to serve people who wear MAGA hats, or have guns or have tattoos*.



    *I have nothing against Tattoos, I have some. Just was using it as an example of things you can control*

    yes I know this isn't a case of "you can control your sexuality/gender identity", I was using it as an example of how fucking stupid these people are.
