    Hello darkness, my old friend
It certainly doesn't solve the problem of people claiming lack of fairness. If a trans woman beats other female swimmers who all weigh in the same range, those who feel it's unfair will claim that she had more lean muscle for the same weight, as men are generally more capable of packing more lean muscle in and therefore a trans woman must have a similar advantage.

The issue isn't fairness. As barfo alluded to, Shaq isn't "fair" in basketball, just because he's a dude and other dudes are also dudes. He happened to get a biology that makes him far better than just about anyone else and there's nothing anyone can do to even out that advantage. Athletics has never been about fairness. The issue is unfamiliarity. The concept of trans people is a new one for a lot of people to grapple with and it "feels" wrong. That's not distinct to this issue--it "felt" wrong to people to have black people and white people marry; gay boys occupying the same locker room with straight boys "felt" wrong to people. It'll create anger, resentment and controversy for a number of years and then the generations that grew up with this as a rare but far from weird circumstance will stop caring. It doesn't require upending all sorts of social institutions to figure out how to make things feel fair to people who just aren't comfortable with the issue.

It is about fairness when time, measures, and/or strength are at stake.

Thanks for the response. Next time read the post first. Your response had nothing to do with what I said.

Perfect. And anybody who has biological gifts that could make them be classified as men should have to compete against men.

A simple physical exam and x-ray should answer this fairly conclusively.

At least, in general it would put those with like muscle mass together in competition.

Your assertion its about feelings is again, very arrogant to assert you know why someone else has a conflict with this.

Why cant it be about fairness?

its never going to be perfect. But weight classes can have like muscle mass contenders compete, making it more competitive.

First you snark and insult intelligence.. be better.

Then you claim its cause our feels are hurt. No mention of the link and the family and crowd that are all against this.

Your posts reek of assholish arrogance…..

Dont tell other people what they feel or how to feel.

Thats some tall shit right there…..

    BE BETTER!!!!!!

    SMFH….

bullshit. You just have your little feels hurt and this thought is not worth anything more than snark.
Its not thought out and not deserving of a respectful response…

    be aware.

I did read your post and your response didn't appear to be germane to the direct issue at hand. But, that's OK, it's just your way.

This issue is getting parsed many different ways (but, of course), but it still doesn't discount nor eliminate the fact that trans boys/men competing in women's sports is flat out wrong and unfair on every level. It just is.

Update on Alex: He still wants to be a girl, so the family is rolling with that. They're working now to find him a suitable school that he'd be comfortable in. I've been told they're visiting one in the San Juan's tomorrow.

Oh, if I were a river.

    If I were a river
    how would I feel
    running and flowing
    slipping over rocks
    the sound thundering
    or maybe whispering
    along with the breezing
    of the wind
    and the song of birds
    frozen over in winter
    trapped in time
    stuck
    or not
    just transformed
    a new shape
a different perspective the seasons of the river
are the seasons of my life
    the sun warms my soul
    the rain replenishes
    and soothes
    river running
    river of hopes and dreams
    we are all the river
    of life

    https://nypost.com/2021/12/07/dominating-in-womens-sports-as-a-trans-athlete-is-selfish/

Dominating in women’s sports as a trans athlete is fundamentally selfish

Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who broke a number of college records this past weekend, is not a hero. She’s selfish.

Why do we separate sports by gender? Because the differences are obvious to anyone with eyes.

In a hard-fought swim meet in February of this year, Kieran Smith of Florida won the men’s 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 4 minutes and 6 seconds, an American record.

A few days ago, Thomas set the women’s Ivy League record for the 500 freestyle, with 4 minutes, 34 seconds — 28 seconds slower.

Thomas competed as a male as recently as 2019. Up against Smith, he would have been destroyed. As a woman, she’s setting records.............

I believe there is a trans woman in professional wrestling (at least as of the posting of this message).
