Seriously, tho. If people think Dame and this team will go out quietly, they clearly haven't followed this team at all.
But I hate the cavs even more ! Honetsly, if it comes down to GSW/OKC/SAS/CLE i'm rooting for the spurs. I don't really hold anythign against Aldridge anymore
I respect the Cavs, LeBron has really done so much work with that team and everyone doubted the moves they made. I mean, the Cavs are like the rich man's us.
I disagree completely. I have little respect for the Cavs. Bron has basically held them hostage signing one year deals. He made the owner go above the luxury tax signing guys like Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert to huge deals. Also, I fail to see how they are like us. Bron and love were established stars. Kyrie was an ascending star prior to bron and love coming onboard.
I'll root for the Spurs in the west but if they play the Cavs I'll want them to win. I just don't care about eastern teams, so I have nothing against the Cavs.
Some overreaction going on here to be honest. It was a great playoff game which Blazers lost to possibly the best ever overtime performance by a complete monster of a player. We were one possession away from winning this in regular time and gave it a proper go. The whole series aside from Game 1 which was decided in the first quarter has been absolutely immense and mere 2 and a half weeks ago we were 2-0 down to Clippers and looked completely lost in the playoffs. Great teams are not built overnight, at the beginning of season everyone anticipated Blazers to be a lottery team and at the beginning of the playoffs they were supposed to maybe snatch 1 or 2 games from the Clippers. To be deep into playoffs and making Warriors properly work for it is amazing achievement and will do absolute wonders for this team's future. It's invaluable experience, don't forget that this Warriors team was also built on tough playoff defeats, you got to lose them when you're this young and this inexperienced. The way I see it is that we've witnessed some incredible playoff performances that we won't forget for a very long time, even if they were losses like today they will still bring fond memories. Then you see performances from Plumlee and Aminu in these playoffs which give great hope for future because we know these players can improve and give something. For Lillard it's experience as a proper team leader, he'll learn from it. For CJ it's first playoff as a key player and he'll also build on this experience. Another thing is that if we'd lost to Clippers or bounced in the regular season like predicted, there'd be little pull for the team in the free agency this Summer. Right now I believe Blazers will be one of the most attractive if not the most attractive proposition, especially for big men because when you look at this team then a big man like Horford is the missing piece. Who knows, maybe someone like Horford or even Durant (not really, I don't believe he'd come) to this team and you're looking at proper contenders. This Summer will be crucial in terms of team building because one or two elements could elevate them from playoff regulars to proper contenders, and this Warriors series will have done wonders in terms of what Blazers can attract IMO. Stotts and Olshey are laying foundations for great future.
We are right where golden state was 3 years ago. Every young up and coming team needs to take their lumps and gain experience from them. That is exactly what we are doing now. The thing is, we have the smallest payroll, one of the best front offices, a proven leader and a coach who gives players the chance toflourish within his offense. This post season has show cased all of these things and our rebuild that has started at the beginning of this season has been accelerated by 2-3 years. Dame has proven that you get marketing deals and expand on other avenues outside of basketball within a small market. We are the team who has positioned ourselves to become elite and stay there for a long period. Fuck the doubters, let's show the league we are here to stay, because we are.
Me too ... But after seeing the Warriors act like they did tonight and Draymond run his mouth, I hope they don't repeat. I'd rather see anyone else left in the playoffs win than the Warriors.
Yeah me too. And I actually liked Warriors until recently, they looked like a good group. Now the only one out there who I truly like is Curry (I really don't have anything against him, for a high calibre star he's quite modest and generally likeable, lets his basketball do the talk). Thompson is bland and Green is just Green.
We have had opportunities to win 3 of the 4 games. This team is not built to win a playoff series, let alone a second round match up with the champs. The team is fighting hard and not playing scared. I am very proud of them, and for the first time in a long time, I am excited for the future.
Yep. I didnt even want to read the game thread after c*rry went off in ot. I cant stand the "fans" rubbing it in our faces that we lost in ot to the greatest team in history and acting like its any players fault. This team was all heart all year and i couldnt be happier with their effort. We proved a lot this season and dame is the best leader/player this team has ever had.
