Chris Dudley.... no experience, and no platform other than vague republican party jivetalk. Yet you want him to be the states CEO for the next four years?
But...He doesn't wear sweet cowboy boots like Kitzhaber. I'm sure Duds would look cool in some spurs if he really wanted to get the wheels spinning on his campaign.
Actually, we know he can do the job. He did it for 8 years already. Why not take a chance on Duds? Because the outcome is likely to be worse rather than better. If a guard misses a free throw or two, why not take a chance on Dudley shooting the next few technical free throws? barfo
Which doesn't really qualify him for the job, as our former president proved Ivy League educations doesn't mean you necessarily have Ivy League ideas.
So? Is that supposed to impress me? Gee willickers....a candidate for governor with a college degree! Wowsers. He has no experience that relates to the job he is running for, and he has no experience in politics. He is dramatically unqualified for this job. Of course so was Arnold, the guvernator of California. And what a bang up job he did.
It also doesn't mean anything. What "Ivy League" education did Bud Clark have? Or Tom McCall? He was arguably, Oregon's best politician and along with Hatfield, the kind of Republicans Oregon could stand behind...instead of shit they pass off as R's today.
And he's a liar, as pointed out by Roey Thorpe, from Planned Parenthood, who wrote September 1st in the Oregonian: In June, Dudley sent a letter to Planned Parenthood Political Action Committee that is very revealing. While he declined to fill out our endorsement questionnaire, Dudley makes his views on abortion clear -- a position that is alarmingly out of sync with the majority of Oregonians. In his letter to Planned Parenthood, Dudley indicates that he is in favor of rolling back abortion access and supports restrictions to choice that Oregon voters have rejected on the ballot time and time again. And he also favors abstinence-only education -- a failed concept that has been proven to be unsuccessful and is only supported by 12% of all Oregonians. This would mean a significant rollback of current state law that already includes abstinence education as part of a comprehensive, age-appropriate program that helps keep our teens safe from STDs and unwanted pregnancy. ... Dudley has indicated he supports the principles of Roe v. Wade, but that's not all it takes to be a pro-choice candidate. Being a pro-choice candidate means making your positions clear along with a commitment to back up your actions by standing up for Oregon women when they need it the most. ... Not only is [John] Kitzhaber the only pro-choice candidate in the race, but he has a proven track record as a leader in women's health care and prevention.... Unfortunately, we conclude that Oregonians cannot trust Chris Dudley to stand up for Oregon's long-standing history of protecting personal freedom. Whoa, look! More lies! http://bujeeboo.blogspot.com/2010/07/want-evidence-of-lies.html
Politics are a whole different ball game these days, when Oregon has like one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation and the shittiest schools. Its just like Obama, I'd like to see some of these past Presidents/Governors thrown in the fire and see how they do. Someone's gotta have the balls to do the job. I'm a fairly left leaning Democrat, but I'd rather see what Dudley can do, instead of the same ol'
It's amazing the power that Goldsmidt still has in this state. Kitz and our current gov are products of his still very active political machine. While Duds isn't my first choice he is a breath of fresh air and has no ties to Goldsmidt or to the retards that have been ruining Oregon's republican party. When you really look into how f'cked up both the Pubs and Dems are here in Oregon Dudley looks better and better.
The woman who just took over Kitz's campaign used to be Neil's chief of staff when he was gov. That's what finally made me decide to go with the tall guy.
