I know many democrat blue collar workers here that have been hugely effected by illegals. They've been forced to join unions, because the illegals have forced them to either take $15-20 per hour construction jobs, when it used to be $25-35 per hour. With the union dues, they make less as they watch illegals get paid under the table in cash (non taxed income). Many illegals do not want to become citizens because they receive free health care, children food vouchers for school, and other forms of welfare, while they can take non-taxed income. I'm in total support of making immigration much easier, but it doesn't solve the problem when companies and those that work "illegally" save much much more money without citizenship.

My children and grandchildren have lived their entire lives in California..I have lived and worked in California. My oldest son works in construction and wasn't forced to join a union or take a pay cut..my daughter is a successful dental assistant in San Diego...other daughter is in the tourist travel industry. I worked in Los Angeles and San Diego when I was younger. If a construction contractor hires under the table, it's not his labor force shutting out more expensive workers, it's the boss' own greed...you are assessing blame to the wrong people
