Romney would have voted to remove him no matter what. He hates Trump, which is what a lot of this boils down to.

Other republicans probably wish to remove him too, but they really can't for political purposes.

Actually because Romney is one Republican who doesn't need Trump. Utah is a conservative state but Trump is unpopular while Romney is popular. He is richer than Trump. Either it benefits him to look independent, or he really has some principles.

Just censure the SOB and get this over with. We all know he isn't going to leave office unless he loses the election. And even then, he'll probably go screaming and crying.

It would be interesting to see if Mitt would have done this if the acquittal wasn’t already a done deal. A protest vote is easier when there aren’t any ramifications.

    1. Im not so sure about that. (of course, we'll never know for sure one way or the other.

    2. Actually, they can...but they are clearly "putting the party before the country"...and it's a damn shame.

That's the way I see it...though I'm not really a big fan of his, he really won't hurt himself by voting to remove.

I should run a betting pool on how soon trump tweets something very derogatory towards Romney.

I wish I was as confident as you are about him losing the election. I really don't see a Dem candidate that's going to resonate with a broad enough slice of the electorate to be anything close to certain of victory next fall.

I would say before 6pm (that even takes into account that it's already 5pm there). :smiley-beerchug:

The strength of positive thinking. If he's re-elected, this country is fucked for 4 more years as he will be much worse in his next 4 than he even was the first 4 (if that's even possible) and likely accumulate close to 40, 000 lies or misstatements.

same with Bill Clinton. Big fucking deal, no one gives a fuck but you.

The bar to impeach has been lowered.

In the next 100 years, I imagine 1/3 of the future Presidents will be impeached as it will be used a political strategy.

This was a foregone conclusion as we all expected. Just hope the dems did enough damage to get this clown out of office in November.
