I'm not trying to say I'm glad for him or anything - he's getting what he deserves even though it's FAR overblown. I just can't help but think that he isn't all that mad about this, because of other opportunities, ya know? I'd rather see him forced to do something that I know he won't like, that's a real punishment. All that's happened so far is that we've given him extra press and now he might have the chance to profit even more off this situation, which is a real tragedy. That's my overall point - if he ends up benefiting from all this crap, it would be a real shame and a sad commentary on American culture [IMG]

What satellite radio is going to pick up Imus? There are only two existing satellite radio companies which service North America: Sirius and XM. Sirius endorses Howard Stern and has put most of their financial resources towards bringing his content over to their service, so they won't be hiring Imus. Not only is he in competition with Stern, but Stern's been in a feud with the guy ever since he started working for WNBC (just watch "Private Parts"). He could possibly go work for XM, but you have to remember that pending approval, Sirius will merge with XM, so XM has to be looking out for Sirius' best interests as well.

And trust me, Imus will live the rest of his life being known as a racist, just like Michael Richards. His priviledged life will be reduced to a life of always looking over his shoulder. Think about being known by all of America as someone who hates black people. You'd never be able to eat at a restaraunt without wondering if someone was messing with your food. Hell, you'd never even be able to walk down the street without worrying about someone yelling something at you or getting physical with you. So don't worry, he's screwed.
