The military is ultimately commanded by civilians. I know enough history to see the parallels of narrow minded people making exaggerated dire claims about us forming a more perfect union. I think Obama is utterly incompetent, but on this issue, DOMA, and immigration, he's doing the right thing. It sucks to be you, dragged fussing and crying down the path to what's good and right. I live in a Navy town, just down the road from camp Pendleton. I know many of my neighbors who serve, and thank goodness not a single one shares your views.
Mar..denny is trolling ya he has zero idea of how close a crew must be to be a true unit, or how little space there is to have to make exceptions for non gender related "privacy" and yeah..I will rep this last post
The Navy is going to give same sex couples 10 days leave to go get married and then they're going to give them the benefits of marriage In The Navy! For a guy who claims to be a bible thumper, you've missed out on the only useful lesson religion has to offer. Do unto others. If others do unto you as you do to them, you would be even more miserable than you are now.
Well dummy, this has nothing to do with doing unto others. It also has nothing to do with improving the combat efficiency of the Navy either. That is the point you overlook. Make things nice and even for a minority, typical progressive secular purist shit at the expense of the mission and to to hell with the majority. The Navy never was about who marries who or what, it was about the mission now there is a new mission. Strike up the Also Sprach Zarathustra, Obama has a new mission for the Navy! Fucking wonderful.
You do realize that just because you are Christian/Catholic doesn't mean you are against homosexuality and gay marriage. And before you condemn those who aren't against it, it doesn't make them "bad" worshippers because they believe that. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Weak sauce. Lame excuses. Those are the exact same things - readiness, etc. - that racist assholes used to try to keep the army from being integrated in the 1940s. The proof is in the pudding, though. Plenty ready. If anything, the military has been lowering its standards because they're having trouble recruiting. Well, there's 35M+ ready, willing, and able bodied soles who'd throw themselves on a grenade to save your sorry ass. They happen to be gay, tough.
Not to mention same arguments used against women. I don't know where MarAzul served but as I said my mother did serve in the Navy and as I said she would be proud. And welcoming of her LGBT shipmates. MarAzul has yet to show one atom of knowledge on any subject. Just another bigot obsessed with what others do sexually. Funny how the ones who despise us most can't stop thinking about us. Hmmmmmm.......
My father, 92 years old and still kicking, absolutely would. After my mother died my father remarried a woman who among other items in her bio was a volunteer counselor at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Considering my father has a lesbian daughter, lesbian niece by marriage, lesbian niece in law, late gay nephew, surviving gay nephew, gay nephew in law (and I may be leaving somebody out!), bigotry is not "kosher" in our family.
Denny, you are assuming that gays don't reproduce and straights always do. Not the case! Our gene pool is fine, thank you. And the world's population is 7 billion and counting so we could argue not reproducing is more adaptive.
ok, Denny I can see that this is a subject that you are not well versed..let me share a few facts the standards are much higher the services are being down sized promotions are harder to qualify for, and if passed over a few times, that service member will be released at the end of their current enlistment there are many combat proven troops that would love to stay in and get their twenty in that are being forced to return to civilian life, both officers and enlisted also, the gay/ straight thing has very little effect in most cases. where it has caused some issues has been with the small percentage that they must flaunt their sexual preferance..that has made the shared showers/bathroom settings uncomfortable for some.
Looks like high unemployment has driven people desperate for work to try to enlist. This is a recent change, fine. The fact is the Navy is going to give gay sailors 10 days' leave to go to a state where their marriage can be legally performed, and then the Federal Government is going to fully recognize the marriages. Odds are at least 1 in 10 guys I've shared a locker room or public shower with was gay. I am unharmed. I would still be unharmed if I knew who they were. Liberty and Justice for ALL.
cool beans, Denny, just wanted to give you some facts and the current POV by actual service members, not just some pulled out of your ass talking points that you can troll with lol
The Naval Officer in the Village People was the only one who wasn't gay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Willis
Yeah. Seems like the people you listed hit the lucky numbers at the genetics Keno game. Except for the in-laws.
