Well for one, we'd have Drummond instead of Lillard... :D

Great, back to not having a PG. That would make us better. Especially once Drummond went down with his first injury.

Who knows what would have happened if we had traded for Harden. The league is stacked with PGs - I think Olshey would have gotten one. Lowry, Calderon, Dragic - who knows?

Drummond (back) will miss four to six weeks due to a stress factor of his fifth lumbar vertebra, the Oakland Press reports.

I am through with drafting centers with high picks. Fuck it. I would much rather have the best back court in the NBA and get a serviceable center than getting a serviceable PG. No way do i take Drummond over Lillard.

And yes Drummond already has a fractured tailbone. Out 4-6 seeks. It is only the beginning, he will gain weight like most of them do and keep getting hurt. Guards rule!

I am MORE than happy with Lillard but lets not pretend we can see the future guys.

I'm with you. We've had nothing but bad luck with drafting centers

Agreed. Most of our best years were with Duckworth at center (a career 12-14 PER center) and a top-flight back court. We can find another Duckworth.

The fact of the matter is that there are only a handful of superstars in the league and they were all top 5 picks. Not every draft had a superstar in it and the chances of getting one is slim to none. Even trading LA to a team for a top pick doesnt mean that pick will be a good player or better then LA. The NBA has turned into a "potential" league. Players are paid and drafted on popotential and that is because it is a superstar league.
I personally dont like the thought of the crapshoot that is the draft deciding our future for years to come.
We have LA in his prime and Lillard/Batum will only get better. Put a strong bench around them and see what happens. The only way we will have a shot at a title anytime soon is the piston and as much as I doubt we can do it id like to see us try before blowing things up. Unless LA suffers a career injury his value isnt likely to drop anytime soon.

I wanted our team to trade for Harden. Oh well. On the flip side, Lillard is becoming our franchise player in his rookie season!
