I only use bluetooth earbuds and in the car it's bluetooth or via the lightning jack.

People got all bothered when Apple got rid of the CD ROM drive. This is pretty much the same kind of thing. It's progress.

Better camera. Up to 256G of flash storage - that's great if you're shooting video. 13 hours using LTE (this is a big deal, IMO).

The 7 has 3G of RAM, which will definitely make it faster at switching "tabs" in the browser and switching between applications.

It's also the fastest iOS device ever.

And waterproof, if you ever drop it in the toilet.

It depends on if the phone and ear buds use high quality codecs.

You can take pictures of fish. Underwater. In the dead oceans.

If he wants to read a book he would still need to charge his phone so he could read the whole book.

    Duh.

A lot of people disagree with you. The CD ROM was obsolete at that point. Bluetooth is not better than corded audio. There are pros and cons to wireless, but it's not a clear upgrade like getting rid of CD ROMS.

    It depends on the technology.

If they are using just plain bluetooth, then wired is better.

If they have the better compression technology in the phone and the ear buds, then it's perfectly fine.

Bluetooth on the iPhone supports the AAC codec, which is the same one used for high quality audio compression in general.

If you're stuck on wanting wired headphones, they have the adapter/jack.

This is all fine for old rich white dudes like Denny, who can afford fancy bluetooth headsets, but what about the rest of us poor people?

Water resistant: 30 minutes at depth of 3 feet.

HOW WATER-RESISTANT IS THE IPHONE 7?
Right, we told a fib at the start. The iPhone 7 is technically waterproof, although it’s not being sold as waterproof. Here’s the proper explanation:

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the organisation that classifies waterproofed gadgets, using an ‘IPXX’ notation system. The ‘IP’ bit stands for 'Ingress Protection’, and the two digits refer to dust-proofing and water-proofing respectively.

The iPhone 7 is IP67 certified. The ‘6’ means that it is completely dust tight, as detailed by the IEC:

“No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust tight). A vacuum must be applied. Test duration of up to 8 hours based on air flow."

But the ‘7’ is the bit we care about; it stands for ‘Immersion, up to one-metre depth’. This means the iPhone 7 was plunged underwater to a depth of one metre for 30 minutes and survived. This was in laboratory conditions however, so your mileage may vary in real life.
