    Here's Videora.

It worked great converting video for the PSP, so I'm sure it's great for the Nano, too.

It's free. You can convert whatever video you want and control the size and quality.

No need for the iTunes store.

You could use torrents (slow and unreliable, but invaluable) or P2P (dangerous!).

I use a great newsgroup search engine that's much faster and easier (but costs a little money).

Basically, you can get whatever you want if you look hard enough.

You could, but the best way I've found to get these shows/movies is through torrents.

Download torrents (just search for "(movie/tv title) torrent") and get something like Azureus.

i've downloaded a bunch of crap and i'm still not sure what the hell i'm doing.
i filled out a CC app last night, so maybe i can wait 2-3 weeks for vid's.
i've got about 100 old songs that i previously burned and as ghoti pointed out i ripped a few CD's.

Max i hope you don't mind but i wanted to try merging a thread and figured we could combine ours to create a super iPod thread!

Hypothetically speaking of course, but how easy is it to either check out DVD's from the library or rent them from blockbuster and get them onto an ipod

Quite a lot are copy protected now, but I'm sure a good google search can get rid of that, hypothetically speaking. Then it's just a case of ripping it, which isn't hard. Then converting it, which is again easy. Then put it on the ipod. Hypothetically speaking, still [IMG]

DVDs from the library is a wonderful thing. The one near me just started getting a ton of tv series in.

Download a Youtube ripper that converts Youtube videos to MP4 Ipod playable Videos. I have about 4gb's of Arsenal, Family, scrubs etc on my Ipod all thanks to Youtube:D Alo my Youtube ripper can take videos from my Computer so all my Downloaded Videos from Limewire are now on my Ipod.

Also shookem I don't mind about the Ipod Merge and i agree about whoever said that Itunes have Crappy Shows. The only half decent one is That 70's show.

Man, all my methods are in here. Using torrents with Azureus, and Videora to convert.

I wouldn't use the Videora youtube feature though since the quality just ends up as crap.

As far as music, get some Avril Lavigne, Shakira, Green Day, Beatles, Queen, Guns n' Roses, etc.

Movies: He Got Game, Hoop Dreams, White Men Can't Jump, Celtic Pride, Music and Lyrics, Borat, Adam Sandler stuff (Little Nicky, Billy Madison, 8 Crazy Nights, and Happy Gilmore are the best), American History X, etc.

And ghoti, you say you can find pretty much anything with your newsgroup thing? Can you find a link to Juno? All the torrents I've seen so far are fakes.

haha my friend said something quite Dim today. He got an 8GB touch for Xmas and he debated the same as me about which to get. The Touch or the 80GB Classic. Anyways i have near enough 1100 songs on mine and he has 600. He said he chose the Touch because the Classic Lags after 20Gbs are used. I laughed and said his wasn't good enough for even 10Gbs. So we tried it and yeh the Touch loaded faster by about a second. He laughed at me for about 10 minutes on th Bus. Then i took my Ipod out to change song and he did the same. Then he went silent. We all looked and saw a Huuuge Crack across his screen. You could tell if he was on his own he'd have burst out in tears. We all burst out in tears as well. But of Laughter. He didn't knock my Classic the rest of the day. Perfect Karma IMO [IMG]

To be honest, for cams and screeners I've had better luck with torrents.

The newsgroup engine is a million times better for music and video, especially portable formats.

Often they are already converted and the engine auto unrars to boot, so it's as simple as downloading one file. No extracting, joining or needing .pars for that one damn part that's missing.

Good show suggestions: Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Back to You, The Office, The Big Bang Theory. I'd suggest 30-minute episodes because that's how long my attention span is with my iPod. The battery will also die out very fast if you watch shows like Prison Break, Lost or a movie.

shookem, there's an apple store at Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, and I'm pretty sure Eaton Centre has it also. As for video converters, try Videora 9. To put songs already on your computer to iTunes, you need to add the folder the songs are in to your library.

We had an apple store open up here(Plymouth) recently. It's actually less expensive then Single brand shops normally are. I got a silicone case there for £15. I think its. Although they do dabble in other brand e.g. HP, Windows etc.

thanks locke, I'll check out those apple shops soon.

i'm probably closet to the one in the Eaton's centre.

i don't know why but video's aren't playing on my nano. I download some free snowboarding clips from itunes but all i get is the audio.

i'm having fun with all my old cd's and making crazy playlists.

it's like the mix tape never died!

Yeh I've had problems with getting videos on as well. I rip them from Youtube, Convert them to MP4 and it won't let me Click and drag onto Itunes. Also i downloaded an Episode of Pimp My Ride, I watched it once and then i went to show a friend and it wasn't there:(
