I figured Bush would be blamed for the IRS somehow losing emails to and from the head of the IRS.

WH spokesman Josh Earnest says anybody questioning veracity of the head of the IRS's emails being lost due to a computer crash is a conspiracy theorist. Any Obama supporters still believe a word anybody affiliated with the WH says?

I know, Bush did it too!

2nd Article of Impeachment against Nixon was for abuse by the IRS, though that was never proven. Barry golfed in Palm Springs today.

At least you're honest about using the federal government to target political opponents of the Obama administration. Remind me to try to not spit in your face should I see you, but I respect you being honest about your tolerance for fascism. It's quite refreshing, actually.

Trey Gowdy rips apart the head of the IRS. The most amazing thing about this is seeing Democrats defend the IRS. That right there tells you something isn't right. Plus, the IRS guy, who is a lifelong Democrat, tries to get in some one-line quips while getting his asshole torn apart.

This is better than anything you'll see on fictional TV. This IRS dolt keeps repeating how he hasn't seen "any wrongdoing," and may have just perjured himself had he not thrown Obama and Carney under the bus. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dude,

Nixon directly ordered the misuse of the IRS, FBI, CIA, and other agencies against his political enemies. The IRS may not have complied, but giving the order is impeachable. Nothing close to this involving Obama, other than the NSA which preceded him (and he's not stopping it).

Watch the video. Absence (or destruction) of evidence isn't an excuse for a defendant against the IRS. Also, read the actual article of impeachment against Nixon regarding the IRS.

That was pretty good. For the uninformed such as myself, it would seem that Gowdy owned that segment. In so far as I don't know the criminal codes either.

It's fairly simple. The IRS Head said he didn't see any evidence of criminal behavior. Gowdy grilled him on if he read the statutes. IRS Guy changes his talking point to "wrondoing" instead of "criminal." Gowdy notes that on the record. IRS Guy basically stammers from that point forward, loses his smug glibness, and starts parroting "wrongdoing" over and over.

I'd hate to be cross-examined by Gowdy. He may be the smartest man in DC.

I got the logic of it. The IRS guy used the "if they did anything illegal, they didn't mean to" excuse.

The same excuse that won't likely get any of US out of a speeding ticket.

The problem with Gowdy being smart and whooping that old guy's ass is that nobody cares. I used to but it drove me crazy that they get away with shit.

I am turning 40 next month and have no kids. I have young nieces and if not for them, I couldn't care less what happens to this country going forward. The movie Idiocracy will look like heaven compared to what is coming.

    I won't defend the IRS.

He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, endeavoured to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposed not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be intitiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.

    That he did.

I think the fact we can have this question and answer format in an open forum speaks volumes about our country.

If you want to jump up and down that nobody seems to care, I get the frustration but it is what it is. A president gets a blowjob from an intern and people are glued to their televisions screaming and ranting. This goes on and it's politics as usual to many. I don't think this is a democratic vs a republican thing as much as it is people have better things to rant and rave about and Americans only have limited time to rant and rave.

Apparently Americans get very little vacation time compared to other countries, we are all so busy working and making money, who has time for this stuff?

Obama's reading all our posts, though. Mags talks about doing drugs and now he's in Gitmo.

People like me are in the minority. I wondered if she was hot enough for me to get blowies from if I were President.

    People cared about OJ...me? Nope
    People cared about Lewinsky...me? Nope

It seems like people that do care about something pick that thing because it affected them. If a family member died too young from a rare cancer, they march for cancer research. Yet there are homeless veterans on every street in a big city.

If people won't prioritize things we will never fix anything.

No offense to crandc, but I agree with more than half of the issues she cares about. I just don't CARE about any of them long term if we don't fix the fundamental issues we have going forward. I think gays should have rights to make medical decisions about their partners and that marriage is a great way to make that happen.

If there isn't a fucking hospital to make those decisions at what is the fucking point?

The sad part is that I clicked the link to the common sense website and scanned a few things. Looked like crazy people to me. However, I immediately wondered if I didn't pop up on some govt agency list right after.

I agree, that people tend to get care about topics that directly affect them.

Curious, you watched that video, do you care much about what they were talking about?

Personally I watched that and wasn't outraged . . . politics as usual for me.
