To the Thread Title. No Banton is not going to be in the league in two years. Found a place on a team that is tanking.
OK, so Scoot is five years younger. Let's compare Banton to someone on the team his same age. They must weight offense higher than defense because Simons wins on overall crafted PM https://craftednba.com/players/comparison?player1=anfernee-simons&player2=dalano-banton
Why do some posters feel so strongly about getting rid of Banton? His stats are too limited and against inferior players? Seems to me he has done better when he got more minutes?
For what Banton brings to the bench, he's a unicorn. At his 2 million a season he's one of the best values for the buck out there. Given regular rotation minutes, he can fill up the basket and rebound well as well as handle the ball. Be dumb to give up on him at that price
Keeper. Not going to find a better back up guard. He's young and will grow well with the core. He's tall, can play good defense and put up points like nobodies business. Also, not going to cost us much to keep him around.
Banton is better than Knox, but I'm not sure he is a good long term fit. He has improved and his stock has likely risen, which is good. I could see him being tossed in on a trade to a team who thinks they can get him in full blossom. I think we have seen his best game. Not that he can’t sustain it, but I think his good play of late is right close to his ceiling.
MM is obviously confused by Banton’s height, relatively light skin tone and masked Canadian accent. Thinks he’s a WABC.
