It states no one in Canada is required to serve in the military, but to be a citizen you must serve 3-9 years.

 

Sweden doesn't either. That's just off the top of my head. Bottom line is there is nothing with regard to requiring military service. It's what keeps Switzerland neutral.

 

And I assume you just glanced at countries without conscription but didn't read the notes to the right. Most of those "none conscription countries" require citizens to still serve 15 months to 3 years

 

Free education for service...what do you call govt benefits for military service then Denny? I'm not tricking anyone..I've served in the military and it doesn't always run itself like it needs to. It's not perfect. It lacks certain democratic choices. I believe whole heartedly in having a military that defends the nation from enemy attacks. The good thing is that we've moved away from the draft. That was a game changer and there have been improvements in military rights, but it's not a democracy

 

Socialism is when you pay for a common with your taxes and you experience the benefits of it.

I didn't go over the laws of all those countries but I think it's pretty clear your....Fact...every socialist country has mandatory military conscription..they don't all have it

You said canada, but it clearly states that citizens require military. Then you said Sweden, which also requires military. You haven't given one
