Actually it sounds like talks got far enough for NOH to guage just how much Portland was willing to part with (a lot by all accounts) and now with that information in hand they are going to go around to other suitors and tell them "Hey Portland just offered us X, Y and Z. If you want Paul you're going to have to do better." This doesn't mean they will deal Paul to somebody else, it doesn't mean they'll deal him at all, but it also means that I wouldn't be shocked if the talks were reopened with the Blazers if nobody is able to trump their initial offering, or maybe they ask them to sweeten the deal a little bit.

Wouldnt they only be reopened if and only if they were serious of moving him?

or more likely, KP was throwing a red herring to JQ who was toying with the extremely gullible

thats not to say that they haven't inquired about CP and other top players, but those are pipe dreams

I think it was serious because Woj had the story too, and im pretty sure that Woj and Quick dont have the same sources

Yes. I'm just saying that because NO supposedly pulled back and has cut off contact with the Blazers it doesn't mean those talks can't be reopened. Jeff Bower would be foolish to bite on the first serious trade offer sent across his desk, he's smart to pull back and a) make the Blazers sweat a little, b) think long and hard about trading away a true franchise player and c) explore all of his options and offers from other teams.

I guarantee that KP's sources are not inside the Blazers organization, he relies on agents, league officials and other people around the league. It would be extremely unusual for a beat reporter to rely on his covered team for information.

Honestly we should throw everything at them in a scenario where we keep Roy and ONE of the following three: Oden, LMA, Batum

Well, I guess that explains why he's getting fired. :)

If they really are or aren't looking to move him, what do you expect them to say? Of course they're gonna deny shopping him.

    why? Birds of a feather...

Besides GO, remind me of all the times JQuick correctly predicted the Blazer draft. Though he always makes some bold claims, I'm pretty sure he's batting an even 0.00%

If you believe Jaynes (or his "sources"), the deal is dead and KP's job is not saved. He also made it sound like it would not involve Roy, Oden or LMA. Maybe that's why it's dead.

J Quick on WAW says it would be a 4 for 1 and very painful for the Blazer fans but good.

I'm guessing it involves, LMA Rudy Miller and Pryz or something like that.

Gave enough hints that point out that it's pretty much CP3.

The deal originally reported was actually LMA, Batum, Miller and Przybilla.

I'd be willing to do LMA, Batum, Miller, Przybilla, Rudy, 22, 34, 2012 top 3 protected pick, and the rights to Claver and take on any of their bad contracts.

    Miller/Przy/Batum/Rudy

If Monty was forced to give up CP3 to Portland he'd demand Batum.

    CP3 definitely being shopped. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5313791

Maybe he will be a Blazer after all. Might take a 3 team trade so we deal LMA and NOH gets LMA equivalent value from another team. Not sure what that would look like. LMA and West might be an OK frontline as well. Better then Okafur/West for sure.
