Assumed that Camby will be out for at least two more weeks because my medical team hasn't been right even one time in the last three years about recovery timelines so I would have kept Johnson around and forced Camby to sit for the next two weeks to make sure he comes back fine.
Yes but we already met that condition. When we got the exception, Camby was out for longer than 2 weeks.
Exactly. Furthermore, I would have informed Camby that he won't be returning until after the all-star break and to take it easy and rest up until that point.
If I were GM I would have asked a bunch of message board fans (i.e. internet nerds) what I should do. I probably woudl have created a poll, and then asked for Denny to permaban anybody who criticized me as it was a personal attack. But that's just me.
so, if Camby returns on schedule, and if he can actually contribute, Cho made the right call. If Camby doesn't make it back, can't play effectively, or re-injures himself from returning too soon....
Well at least he showed up for the game. Can you get a picture off with your iphone and post it up here?
I sympathize with your attempt to make sense of what Cho did. It sounds like this is the rule: Beginning on the day the injury exception player is picked up from the D-League (for 10 days), we can't activate the injured player for 14 days. If we choose to renew the 10-day contract, the 14-day clock restarts. The confusion comes from fitting the 10-day cycle into the 14-day cycle. When you do the pair of cycles again, the washing machine instructions say, "Repeat." This is like Ptolemy's cycles within cycles theory of how the Sun and planets go around the Earth. If anyone could cite the CBA rule, it would clarify our speculation.
