Welcome back Bruno! Good to see you post again but no...Dame is not washed up....he'll bounce back and find his stroke again..Curry did after injury and Durant did too....Dame will be fine once he gets comfortable with Chauncey's game plans
He did play well (ok) against the Grizz. Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers - Box Score - December 15, 2021 - ESPN
Time to shut him down. Maybe they are waiting until a trade happens and they can try to retool the roster a bit? I don't know? In the end i believe they will shut Dame down this year if things don't turn around pretty quick. I figure we will all know by the All-Star break.
Yeah. I'm trying to think like i think Damian Lillard would think. Trade deadline is Feb 10th. You figure Dame will stay active until there is no chance. I also figure the Team will make some kind of move. If the Blazers are in the running for a playoff spot he will not shut down. That includes the play in tourney.
I believe you are right but hope you are wrong. IF we shut him down at all, then it should happen right now, so a trade by trade deadline looks more enticing with our potential pick being a good lottery pick. Cant believe im saying this but sit Dame. Ow and Tank the shit out of this season!
How does that work? That pick is traded already if they make the playoffs? If a team trades and includes that pick but then the Blazers somehow make the playoffs they lose their pick? It's why i don't comment much on trade threads.
im not sure wither honestly. I think we may have to wait unril its confirmed. But thats why i think we should tNk now. Maybe its confirmed by the deadline? There are some really knowledgeable people here about this. Maybe we can lean on them a bit? @hoopsjock ? @BonesJones ? help some BlazerBros out? If we tried tanking now how does our lottery protected pick work out?
We can't trade that pick at the deadline. We could trade it at the draft after the season is over by making the pick for someone and then trading that person based on an agreed upon deal. As long as we are in the lottery. Of course. If we do make the playoffs it goes to chicago. Right now we can't trade our 2023 first round pick because you can't have back to back picks gone. If we don't make the playoffs and we get to keep our 2022 pick, the 2023 pick is held hostage by Chicago. Meaning we then couldn't trade our 2024 pick.
You Dame is not playing superstar like he has in the past but he still averaging 22/7 that's pretty good for most players in this season. His shot hasn't been consistent this year but hate to say majority of players in this league is having the same problem so maybe it's the ball or not but the 3 point shooting in this league been down percentage wise. Yes we love have averaging 28 points and maybe that would give view more wins but it's time other players to step up and start playing better beside him if they want turn the season around.
I think hes starting to rapidly decline + injury. Didnt same thing happen to other players like Deron Williams? I think we have seen with other stars one nagging injury changes them for the worst forever.
Curry missed all but 5 games of the season he was 31, like Dame. How much has he "declined"? for fuck sakes, 6 months ago Dame averaged 34 & 10 in a playoff series with a .660 TS%; a 41.6% assist rate; and a 5.4 astR/trnR ratio. He hasn't declined 40% in 6 months....it's just loopy to believe he has
how could you even get that as a point I was arguing? they both are athletes and they both have bodies. Curry is more than 2 years older than Dame and doing very well. And, unlike Dame, Curry has had several serious injuries in his career. Any one of which could have hammered his trajectory more than Dame's injured abdomen but if you found my post cryptic, I'll be more direct: believing Dame is already in major decline because of age is loopy...IMO of course, no offense meant and I've noticed that many of those arguing he is declining have been Dame critics for a long while and are also on the 'trade-Dame' train. That's not coincidence, it's agenda....again IMO
If we make the playoffs, our pick goes to Chicago and our obligations for the trade are done. We then have all our future picks back with no restrictions. If we miss the playoffs, we keep the pick and this same scenario plays out the next 4 years until it is conveyed or if we don't make the playoffs at all it eventually turns into 2nd round picks. If the goal was to free up picks to trade we'd have to change the protections with Chicago somehow. This would likely involve giving them cash, or some sort of other compensation like a 2nd round pick or something, or just unprotecting it if they agreed (no reason for them not to). If we kept the pick we could trade whoever we drafted once we select them but not before unless the protection is changed with Chicago.
So you are comparing them only on the fact they are both human beings and both athletes? Why not compare him to Greg Oden or Tracy Mcgrady then? You also said curry has had more serious injures then dame also but curry didn’t go through these huge piss poor stretches so why compare them at all? dame apparently doesn’t need surgery on while curry did and sat out a season and returned well. While dame doesn’t need any surgery to rehab from and is shooting his worst percentage of his career even worse than his his rookie year .there is no way that is all injury also..we didn’t even hear much of this injury at the start of the season all until he started having constant poor performances over and over. And all players start to decline their 30s some more than other i find it “loopy” you find that a strange concept. What’s the point of comparing him to curry then? I can compare him to Players who had their career end by injures and use the same logic” they they are both players and both have bodies”? I haven’t been on the trade dame trade thread till recently..
LOL..you are the one who said Dame is "rapidly declining". Why don't you explain what it is, specifically, about Dame that make you see a player rapidly declining physically he's 31, not 41
Well just look at his stats from a season ago to now. Specifically his shooting percentage is much worse. That’s a pretty drastic rapid decline from a statistical standpoint. And this injury ..we didn’t even hear much of until after the olympics it’s was mentioned to explain his poor performance then, okay well then there was at least sometime between the olympics where the injury could of been addressed and the season start but the team clearly didn’t think much of then. we pretty much heard nothing from the team and even dame said he feels fine several games in and we assumed it was just a slump.. until the slump just kept going and going and now we are hearing it’s the injury again. I just can’t believe the injury is a major factor here. Chauncey wouldn’t be playing him this many minutes .. why would the team risk their franchise player like that? Much more likely he’s just declining. And it pains me to see, I’m no dame hater I like the guy a lot I screamed just like every other fan when he made those game winners in the playoffs. I just don’t like living in disillusion
