Did Jordan even win a playoff series before Scottie and Phil arrived? And remind me of the titles Magic won without all-time NBA leading scorer Kareem?
Feel like it’s aimed at a lot of our media. We have got to have some of the worst reporters in the league, if you can even call them that. Especially the Twitter fingers that were making wild accusations about his character.
In Scotties rookie year, they went to the semifinals. But I'm not sure if that should necessarily be accredited to Pippen though. But Magic also has Worthy, Scott, Green and Cooper (and one could argue Jamal Wilkes, Norm Nixon and Marquise Johnson too). A gross fact: The Lakers went to the finals 7 out of 8 years, and 9 out of 12 years in Magic Johnsons 1sts career run (and apparently all due to Magic Johnson...) Arguably the most prolific finals stretch for any single player since the Celtics.
2 different teams. But he went 9 out of 10 I believe 4 w/Miami, 4 with Cleveland, Toronto (w/out LeBron) then 1 with Lakers. I think...
I want to end this discussion once and for all. On the court Dame is definitely not washed, who feels clean while they're giving full effort during 35+ minutes of the highest level basketball in the world and many consider a lot of the things Dame does on offense filthy. Off the court however the guy seems very hygienic (@THE HCP could probably correct me if I'm wrong) also many consider the clothes he wears to be clean. So of course most of the time Dame has been washed and I'm sure that he is daily washed up but never while he's playing. Case closed.
Im sure this has already been said but it bears repeating. Jordan had Pippen who took the bulls on a deep playoff run by himself when Jordan was gone. Then Magic had either the all time leading scorer, in the conversation for GOAT Kareem and James Worthy. Thats a trash take.
Yeah, he was replying to my post and I stand by it. No one has ever carried a team to a championship, they've all had far far more help than Dame. Dame has had teams that were about as bad as the teams LeBron had early in his career with the Cavs. LeBron was far greater even at that age than Dame will ever be and carried a team to a Finals sweep. That's the furthest I've seen a player take a team with the lack of talent/fit that Dame has had to deal with since the LaMarcus triggered mass exodus of the first iteration of Dame's Blazers. Ever since then we've been working with the second iteration... the Olshey iteration and hopefully by the trade deadline it will be very clear that we're dealing with a third iteration. Again though, not a player in the history of the league has carried a team to a chip, it just hasn't come close to happening.
We could just pretend you meant Bob McAdoo. While at the end of his career, he still was a really productive scorer.
